It was past 1AM on Sunday morning yet the audience was still buzzing, iconic Nigerian fashion brand, Tiffany Amber was about to hit the runway at the 2012 Arise Magazine Fashion Week. It was a fabulous showing with showstopping moments including international supermodel Alek Wek’s Arise 2012 runway debut.
This season, Tiffany Amber brought the sexy daring slits and glamorous fringed evening wear. Quintessential Tiffany Amber pieces constructed with draped chiffon and silks also found their place in this collection. Love!

Metissage schmetissage..I can see the vultures goin green wit envy..this collection lacks that ‘wow’ effect..she no prepare well..
How those that even begin to make sense? vultures going green with envy at a collection that lacks “wow” effect in your eyes?
brilliant
Very nice. Coupla outfits I can see myself rocking…
cool

Nice! Now I see why she made New York. Kudos!
Eku Eku…..
Liked the 16th outfit…the brown outfit….quite basic collection for me safe but mature…
I cant say I love this collection. There are one or two lovely and flattering pieces but the rest have a general air of “meh” about them and even Alek Wek couldnt make that plum debacle look good. And Im trying to figure out how she managed to beat out quite a few talented designers for the opportunity to go to new york. Its not bad but it aint great.
Exactly! Most of the clothes looked like they were copped at a Monsoon mid-season sale event or something. The prints are non-existent, no vibrancy at all. The whole thing is wearable but that might actually be the problem. No showmanship whatsoever.
first of all, get your facts right – she showcased her collection at the London Fashion Week not NYFW.
Secondly, what is even your own? Why not just congratulate one of our fellow nigerians who is making a postive name for herself outside of the diaspora??
Na wa for all these faceless critics! All you guys do is go on sites like this, critise other people and their efforts!
Sisi, try to calm down it will help you to get YOUR facts right. Tiffany Amber has been chosen as one of the designers showcasing in NEW YORK with Arise. Based on this collection IN MY OPINION, I dont see why. Their are fit issues in several of the pieces and creatively it moves from the bizarre to the boring. This is far from her best work and considering she has already shown with Arise a few times it would have been nice for someone else to have the opportunity as I believe mediocrity shouldnt be rewarded whether its a fellow nigerian or not.
Ok, apologies! I though you were speaking restrospectively – I didnt even know she had been chosen for NYFW. Great news, more grease to your elbows, Aunty Flakes!
Having said that, my point stands – you people are a bunch of haters! nonetheless, we live in a free world and everyone is entitled to their opinions but when you next feel the need to broadcast your “non professional opinion” be sure to examine yourself – are you projecting your insecurities on other people? Does criticising others make you feel better about your own short comings in life? If the honest answer to those questions is yes, then you need to address the underlying problem and stop taking to blogs like this to pull other people down.
sorry to pick on you because this is clearly a wider issue – its not just directed at you. I’m just thoroughly disgusted with the amount of faceless crticism which takes place on these blogs!
We are all here talking about CLOTHES, and you are talking about insecurities and projection. There is a place for that, but it isnt here. This is the place for giving opinions on fashion collections. We are the end consumers for the things being shown and a smart designer listens to her clients, Good and Bad. Im not sure why you are burning so bad, but I hope “Aunty Flakes” see’s your effort and packs you in her suitcase to New York.
Fabulous collection, they definitely saved the best for last. And it’s great to see Folake Coker do something different to her hair!

OH PUHLEASE!!! I had very high hopes for tiffany amber and i was quite, i said quite oo, disappointed. Some good stuff, not crazy about the majority of these.
Classy!
Yes, yes, yes. Love, love, love! And she really pulled out the stops with the models walking her runway. There is simplicity and there is mediocrity. This, people, isn’t mediocrity. This is a fab collection. Unlike JBL’s.
I love u folake! *sobs* star struck!
Comments so hilarious lol. Chikas dress is my favorite though
there are some looks in the collection that leave you wonderin what the hell she was thinking having them there coz other aspects of the collection are amazing especially the 1st 3 looks

Great collection!!!!! we see why Tiffany Amber is the queen of Nigerian fashion.
i’m not trying to be funny but some shows were just a total NO…NO #HOUSE OF SILK, it was totally uncoordinated and with no theme, it looked like she just woke one morning and just put a few random outfits together.
