“Don’t come at me with that Dumb Sh*t” – Lil Wayne doesn’t think #BlackLivesMatter Needs to be a Movement because “America understands black people”
Lil Wayne is under fire for his recent comments during an interview on Nightline where he was asked for his thoughts on the #BlackLivesMatter movement.
The Grammy-winning hip-hop artist was dismissive when Nightline reporter Lindsey Davis asked his thoughts on social issues. In a preview clip of the interview, Davis addressed the Black Lives Matter movement, to which Wayne responds: “What is it? What does it mean?”
And when asked if he felt drawn to the movement, he answers: “I don’t feel connected to a damn thing that ain’t got nothin’ to do with me.” He went on to explain, “I’m a young black rich mother****er. If that don’t let you know that America understand.”
Back in September, Lil Wayne shared a similar, sentiment toward the movement by saying that there is “no such thing as racism” because there are usually a lot of white fans at his concerts.
