If you’re looking to refresh your playlist and your style moodboard this week, Fireboy DML has given us both. The YBNL Afrobeats star has released his new single Claat!, teaming up with Jamaican dancehall artist Masicka for a track that blends Afrobeats with dancehall in a way that feels smooth, confident, and easy to replay. The song is also the first taste of his upcoming fifth studio album, Zuko, accompanied by a visually fascinating music video that leans into sharp, minimalist aesthetics.

The video keeps things simple with black, white, and flashes of deep red, and that choice makes every frame stand out. Shot inside a warehouse-style studio with exposed brick walls and natural light pouring through the windows, the visuals feel clean, dramatic, and focused without trying too hard.

Fireboy moves between two very different looks. In one scene, he wears a white athletic tank top with a black durag, silver chains, and wrapped hands. In another, he switches into a textured black coat with fur detailing layered over metallic trousers. The dancers, dressed in structured red bodysuits, bring movement and colour into the space, creating a strong contrast against the black-and-white backdrop.

Fans had already been anticipating the release after Fireboy shared a teaser online, and the full video feels like a confident introduction to the Zuko! era. Known for songs like Peru, Jealous, and albums including Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps, Fireboy has continued to stretch his sound over the years, and Claat! pushes even further into dancehall territory. Masicka’s presence adds a distinctly Caribbean edge that gives the collaboration a fresh rhythm.

One of the most interesting things about the video is how restrained the styling feels. Instead of relying on multiple colours or elaborate sets, it lets the textures, leather, metal, and movement do most of the work. The combination of a simple tank top with statement outerwear and bold accessories makes the whole look feel current without being complicated.

Between the music, the collaboration, and the visual direction, Claat! feels like a strong start to Fireboy DML’s next chapter. And if this is the mood he’s setting for Zuko!, there’s a good chance this won’t be the last time we’re talking about it this month.
