The anticipated nomination list for the 7th season of The Future Awards is here!

After unveiling the spectacular nominees list of the Young Person of the Year, the creative team behind the all youth award has finally released all the 21 categories and has informed us voting begins right now. According to the organizers, voting takes 50% of the second stage of judging, so winners are not selected only by voting popularity.

Speaking on the nominations, Chude Jideonwo (Executive Director, The Future Project) said “Though there were remarkable difficulties in getting young leaders and entrepreneurs closer to 20 than 30, but we are excited to have yet arrived at an inspiring run-down of young Nigerians. We gave ourselves the tough task of finding innovators, entrepreneurs and the kinds of young people you don’t always hear about, which is the essence of The Future Awards and we are as always, incredibly proud of the nominees we have.”

All nominees will be celebrated at an invitation-only media and VIP Nominees Reception on Saturday 4th August 2012, where they will also be inducted into the elite The Future Alumni Network. The Reception is also a yearly charity fundraiser which will see all attendees help raise money for the Down Syndrome Association of Nigeria – a pioneering advocacy platform for children with Down’s Syndrome.

Check out all the nominees.

Seriously Denrele shouldn’t be on these lists since he has been 28 since 2008 that guy finished secondary school in 1996 so was he 12 then? You guys better put his real age there or remove his name from the list it’s all about integrity.

      • Abs July 19, 2012 at 11:34 AM

lolol. If he finished secondary school in 96 then he should be around 33/34 years. And Don Jazzy is 30? Errmm… Congrats to all on the list. great job!

      • YummyMummy July 19, 2012 at 10:00 AM

        *Cant*

    • Anon July 19, 2012 at 10:49 AM

Ok, clearly the ages have an issue. But let us allow them now haba! I heard though that this is the first stage, now the nominees have to show proof of age then there will be another shortlist before the main awards. Let’s see how it plays out because em Don Jazzy is 30??? Okkkk

    • Ibukun July 19, 2012 at 10:51 AM

Dear Future Awards, Toyosi Ogunseye is 28 and not 29. We were born the same year and she is just a week older than me. Kindly get details right. Information like this matter a lot becaue they are in the public domain. Thank you.

    • angel eyes July 19, 2012 at 11:40 AM

nice list….but pleaseee, those are not deir real ages abeg, how can tonto be 26, toju foyeh 23, davido 19,denrele 28 and more false ages i’m seeing here…….future awards committee, i love what you guys are doing but please, try and get your facts right. Even when toke was interviewed, she said she was 27( which is also a lie anyway), now you guys are claiming she’s 26 again..haba….na football age full here ooo

    • Michael Olugbo Adeyemi July 19, 2012 at 12:00 PM

FOR INNOVATION: I vote my main man Olumide Adewumi (GIDILOUNGE). His perseverance, dexterity, finesse and vision. Cant wait till you actually hit gidi man. Don’t worry i’m right behind you with something sick.

    • bisbee July 19, 2012 at 12:20 PM

Shebi toke makinwa granted an interview here on BN,and said she is 28,abi I saw dat age in the Punch newspaper. So where did 26 come from biko????am confused o

    • Miranda Baxter July 19, 2012 at 1:04 PM

Denrele should actually be 29, i was at his birthday party in Abuja and by the way, he deserves this particular award. He has been nominated for over 5 times for this category and honestly, he is more popular than his nominees who are trying so hard to be noticed. He grabs attention flawlessly. but i hope he changes his mode of dressing, its darn eyesore-ish!

    • christy July 19, 2012 at 1:05 PM

Am impressed and thesame time highly disappointed wit d football age here. They are young nigerians dats why am impress, making us proud but common, d age here are practically Fake. by the way, is Toke. Makinwa doing in that list, she’s 28 not 26 as claimed. Dbanj is older than Donjazzy cos he said so himself during their early misunderstand. WtF is Uti doin in d list aswell?, Vixen 25? False. Wizkid is 23 not 22. Gidi traffic 22? Even tonto dike 26 fat lie. GOd have mercy. For much complain, kindly send a mail to info@thefuturenigeria.com cos am doing same here. There shld some iintegrity in this award it shld be base on credit not man-know-man pls.
