Heidi Klum Says Kim Kardashian Made Curvier Women More Acceptable in the Fashion Industry

It looks like Kim Kardashian West is to praise for the fashion industry’s acceptance of curvier figures. At least according to supermodel & Project Runway creator & Germany’s Next Top Model host Heidi Klum.

According to Heidi via Glamour, she credits Kim for helping change the attitude towards curvier body shapes by proudly displaying her figure saying – “Kim Kardashian changed the look in the fashion industry, which is amazing. I know that other women love to be more curvy. At the end of the day you have to live in a body that you feel comfortable in and that you love.”

Well, Kim does love to show off her figure every now and again, letting people know she loves her shape and thinks all women should embrace their own beauty; but does that mean she was a major force in promoting the love for curvier women in the fashion world?

This is what white people like to tell themselves.
What about Beyonce, Mariah Carey, and all the other black women that had been proud of their shape before Kim K even became popular?

as in ehn I tire…..things like this just drives me crazy…..abeg which stupid Kim pioneered the love for curves??? what happened to all the curvy sexy black women that have been in the industry ever since?? i do not blame the Afro- Americans who are upset over the whites copying their cultures and styles and claiming they invented it….haba black women have always been naturally curvy not the fake curvy but then they were regarded as fat and disgusting but now its great because of Kim…..see ehn Africans and people of color in general have to learn their history and not what they read online as that is just institutionalized white supremacy…ahn ahn these pale a**holes just want to take credit for every goddamn thing

Thank you oh. Everyone seem to be falling over themselves to credit Kim for something. I wonder why. I admit I don’t know much about the fashion industry but Kim isn’t a model. There have been curvy women in the world so how does Kim being curvy help the acceptance of curvy models (I imagine that’s what she’s referring to). I’m just wondering aloud though.

CHI BUT STILL THEY DID’NT MODEL LIKE KIM IS DOING PRESENTLY. MARIAH EVEN MODELED LESS THAN BEYONCE. THINK ABOUT IT. KIM IS EVERYWHERE…………..HEIDI IS CORRECT. CURVY WOMEN ARE NOW FOR HIRE IN THE MARKET BC THEIR CURVES CARRY OUTFITS WELL. IT’S MORE REALISTIC.

Kim is everywhere because of her husband and publicist not because she is talented.
P.S. Kim does not model. She just has designers remake previous collection pieces that are unwearable to normal people.

I think she is completely right, KK owns her curves and will show it off everytime maybe too much, but she is really confidence in her body

100% True….. Kim plays a big role in changing the way fashion see women……. The craze was size 0 or 2… but now is all about curve….

Kim said she used to be ashamed of her curves even Paris Hilton talked about how they used to make fun of her cause of her big ass. But seeing Jlo and how she flaunts her curves without any apology made her accept and love her curves too. So there was a Jlo before Kim. But Heidi has always been in the industry so she may be right.

What about black women who have always had this kind of body? Really? Race is a massive problem in America.. give credit where it’s due and it’s not with Kim.

funny but sometimes i see pictures of kim very curvy or more weight and other pic i see her skinny like this pic…. but wait i thought it was Jlo who made curvier women more acceptable.

I disagree on this one. I think the acceptance of curves on women came with the Hip-hop, Rap and R&B music genres and not Kimmy K.

She has participated but she didn’t “change the look in the fashion industry”

    Nonsense!
    Which curvy body??
The surgical enhanced one or the natural body
I think Amber is more curvier than Kim!

Yes KK embrace her curves from watching Jlo, and yes Beyonce, Jennifer lopez and mariah carey embrace their curves first, but the fact still remains that she did make a bigger impact on tge fashion industry then all of the others when it comes to this issues. I think women with curves accepted their curves more when she come out. Certain people just can’t admit it, because people still be believing she does nothing. She has made an impact whether you like it or not.

I totally agree. There were curvy women before her though, but they were busy with their various careers to highlight the body. Kim is however a body model hence had time to show off their curves. And boom the whole world following suit.

iam not realy a fun of miss West, but Heidi is totaly correct…Black curvy women were always there, buh no one realy thought they were sexy, every one thought they where fat….they all wanted to be skinny, not long ago people refered to skiny as “sexy”, they will be like “ur so sexy”……..buh after Kim K, ever flauntin her ass, boobz an all of hers, suddently people started noticing curvier women..people who would normaly hide under bags of clothes, started embracing they curves….now Skinny wants fats…… every woman you see is trying to do squats for a fattter ass!!!!!he he 🙂
    so ja its kinda true!!!
