UK Entertainment and lifestyle website, Daily Mail has thrown the spotlight on some of the Rich kids of Africa. These kids are said to be giving rich kids of Russia, UK and the US stiff competition.

Collecting their information from The Richkidsnaija Instagram account, they listed E-money as Nigeria’s youngest billionaire as he lives in a gold decked house and they highlighted his use of a money gun to spray cash on guests at weddings.

Bureau de change CEO, Mompha is also said to pay cash for sprees at Valentino, Hermes, Cavalli and Versace.

IMG_20161020_222520

Rapper and designer Bayo Adewale AKA Bnaira also makes the list as he is said to be fond of throwing cash around at parties.

This is really hilarious!! Talking about rich kids of naija and listing these questionable uncouth fellows? What happened to Usman Dantata, Paddy Adenuga, cuppy, Tracy Nwapa, etc?

    • Ijebujesha

      October 21, 2016 at 12:03 am

No difference. Dantata, Adenuga, Otedola are also beneficiaries of the vast patronage and corrupt system that is Nigeria

      I have a few questions.
How is Noble Igwe on the cover of “Rich kids of Nigeria” article?
How is it that EFCC hasn’t looked into Emoney’s story yet? The guy is like those people from Nollywood movies that have an animal vomiting money in their inner room.

    • EbonyFre

      October 21, 2016 at 11:20 am

Emoney Emoney. What business venture made him a billionaire? It’s very baffling. And we’re acting like adding money to your name automatically makes you rich. Where does his money come from ooo?
These old babas are not “kids”. So wen we talk about Russian, US and UK kids, we should compare with real kids here.

Did they call Africa a nation?? Again?

Emoney is on another level of disgusting lack of class.

Actually the richest man in Africa is from Nigeria Aliko Dangote he is worth $14 billion and Nigeria have the richest billionaire and millionaire in Africa. Nigeria is the richest country in Africa and the 26th richest in the world you white people in the western world don’t even know what is happening.

HereComesTheSun, Sunnyside, Isle Of Man, 14 hours ago

If that’s true Nneka, then ask them to help out the desperately poor people living in slums in your country. We shouldn’t be sending even a fraction of a penny over to you.

@Lady the comments there are embarrassing, I was ashamed as I was reading them and the sad part is that a lot of them were true. This Nneka is an ignoramus, making it sound like Nigeria is a land flowing with milk and honey and we all live in marble houses

    • Lady

      October 21, 2016 at 12:40 pm

Dont mind the ignoramus some Nigerians that tried defending this stupidity got lashed on by foreigners. I couldn’t even read through again because i felt so ashamed for my dear Country had to close the site…

    • Lazy, colonial, patronising, half-baked, so-called journalism.

      October 21, 2016 at 6:45 pm

The comments on the Mail and any other media outlet that carries a feature on rich Nigerians are always the same: why do they bother sending aid to Nigeria and other African countries; and, various comments on how classless, lacking good taste, money doesn’t buy class, money doesn’t buy intelligence, etc, etc. Just the same exact sort of comments Nigerians make. And that, the latter, for me is the only embarrassing thing i.e. that those commenters on the Mail and other forums do not know that Nigerians actually are making the very same comments. Oh, the other embarrassing thing is that people read that and think that truly those featured represent the rich of Nigeria and that the amounts they quote of their expenditure abroad or elsewhere, is truly how much the rich of Nigerian spend. It is so laughable! You are talking about rich and you talk of expenditure of £2500? N1m? The rich spend that casually at lunch! That Channel 4 or BBC or whatever documentary also had me cringing. One of the ‘rich’ Nigerians featured traveled to London for a weekend shopping spree taken round by a personal shopper and spent in the entire weekend, £5000. You need to know what the real rich Nigerians, what Russians, what arabs spend in one day’s shopping or at just one store. People who fly in their luxury customised cars to London, Paris, wherever just for the period of their holidays there, at a cost of about £30,000 per vehicle (not the vehicle, the temporary importation); who fly in with entourages of personal chefs, stylists, assistants, other staff and occupy multiple rooms and suites in 5-star hotels, occupying entire floors, private jets always on standby, private jets and shoppers flying to other places to go buy and bring in gourmet groceries, the freshest seafood, and sometimes not even gourmet meals but a cheeseburger from a particular branch of a fast-food restaurant in yet another country. And because someone has Louboutin trainers, they are calling him the rich of Nigeria. When there are people who have personalised, customised shoes quietly made for them by these same designers, people who have their names and personal logos and crest signed and imprinted on the soles of their shoes by these same designers. And then, there are others, whilst some are rushing to buy Louis Vuitton, etc, there are leather goods makers so exclusive that they do not advertise but have existed for decades and the really exclusive and rich know them and recognise their luggage among themselves.

And they are talking about some johnny-come-latelys that no one can identify where the ‘riches’ came from as rich Nigerians. Personal wealth of £2.5m, as one of THE rich Nigerians, hahaha.

Buying Louboutins, flying first class on Emirates or any other airline to the UK, when people are buying whopping, huge yachts and ‘blocking’ the Thames.

Even compared with the really rich non-Nigerians in Nigeria, it is still laughable. As far back as 1991, I remember going with a friend to visit a rich Lebanese family/couple (one of their businesses is soft drinks) at their home. That, back then, was my first experience of having to take a lift and go up floors in a private home. Forget the maids in full uniforms with aprons, the silverware, the crystal all over the place just casually. Anyhew, they were about to travel the next day and they were going to branch in Switzerland just to take their CHIHUAHUA to the vet there. They were going to other places but a/the major reason that they were going to Switzerland was because their darling chihuahua needed to see the vet. That was in 1991. And some people are here in 2016 basing their ‘rich’ status on red-bottomed sports shoes.

And, please, with all this so-called riches, can none of these people, if not buy good taste, at least hire people with good taste to advise them? That zebra-print rug plus the gold veneer everywhere and the red furniture, aargh! Then, look at the decor and furniture around the guy with the red-bottomed trainers strewn on the rug in front of him. Look at the wall, the cheap looking brown wood side stools, the cheap-looking fake white flowers in vase in the corner of the wall, even the very sofa (red leather) that he’s seated on, where is the riches, the wealth, the class, the good taste there? RICHES are a COMPLETE thing. When you are truly rich, you are rich all round. It reflects and shows everywhere and in everything in your life, EFFORTLESSLY.

Most of all, in your mind.

So tired of us being misrepresented.

      Not just Nigerians.

      Africans, also.

      October 21, 2016 at 12:39 pm

What exactly makes this comment epic? You should be offended by the comments on that site if you are Nigerian (which I highly doubt) or African. While I’m not one to support ostentatious/flamboyant living, what I observed is most of the daily mail commentators are racist and ignorant, and cannot conceive of the idea that there are wealthy black people in Africa. They are the type that think Africans live on trees. See them there talking about aid money as if they can smell half the resources we have. I don’t blame them sha, I blame the so called leaders of this country who have collectively put us in this mess where we are viewed as sub-humans not capable of owning wealth. You should be offended not celebrating “epic comments”!

    • TheRealist

      October 22, 2016 at 9:31 pm

Thank you! Whatever our many problems are (and which country does not issues founded on social ineaquality – with the wealth gap in the same U.K. widening every dat), most of the comments there are simply anchored on ignorance and racism. Unfortunately many Nigerians themselves apparently lack the capacity (or are too full of bile and/or self loathing) to discern that.

  28. LemmeRant

    October 21, 2016 at 1:16 pm

Nigerians are so quick to agree with anything white people say. A lot of the people commenting on the Daily Mail blogs are just peasant western racist who can’t fathom that all africans are not living in trees and eating bananas like they used to believe. Most of them are as ignorant as shit and would believe anything about any country their media publishes which is why their a prime target for those online frauds they seem to complain about.

DM commenters have always been angry and bitter. Its nothing surprising.

  29. Emma

    October 21, 2016 at 3:29 pm

Bwahahahaha! Rick kids my foot. Half of the people on this list are not Nigerian, the other half are not rich kids, in fact the source of their wealth is very questionable. Daily fail has started again, this is how they always want to make us look bad. The comments under this article are filled with racists who can’t wrap their heads around the fact that black people can live lavish lifestyles with legitimate money that they worked hard for.
Then there’s always the ignorant comments from white people screaming aid money as if their country will be able to compete with Nigeria if Nigeria’s resources were managed properly. Matter of fact, with the amount of money that their country has stolen from Nigeria over the years, their useless aid money can’t even make up to a fraction of it. Let their stupid entitled asses sit there and seethe. Idiots.

  30. Lizzy Ozzy

    October 21, 2016 at 3:57 pm

@Dailymail should’ve said richguys instead rich kids cos most of these dudes are over 40 and when you call them kids, they’ll get back at you.

    October 21, 2016 at 6:35 pm

Not disregarding the poverty levels in 9ja but the daily mail posters are just a bunch of ignorant bitter jealous white people…jealous of successful whites talk less of Blacks…those images real or not would really get up their rear end..
9jas in Gidi have no clue what Blacks have to deal with it..
Once they see a supposed successful African they got to bring up the small aid they give…how much is their Aid in real terms..betcha they take twice as much back with conditions…
    @mama…..some don’t know what time it is 4 real…
