As in! I’m sick of her now. She’s not a fantastic actress, even though I like her, ever since she got engaged to Banky W, Naija media, particularly Bella Naija have been throwing her in our faces and down our throats. No, she isn’t Nigeria’s old or new sweetheart. You guys have made people sick of her already.

Kk, at least Osas can even act. I wouldn’t say Osas was hyped, she was worth the hype and even if new people came (which is normal in entertainment), people aren’t tired of Osas. I’m over Adesua already.

Genevieve Nnaji still isn’t, and she wasn’t even the main sweetheart.

This one has started showing body since she got engaged to an entertainer. My dear, heez not a competition. Your man chose you cos he thinks you’re homely, leave the body opening to the side chicks, whether you expose or not, your destiny as an artiste’s wife cannot be erased. The battle is not yours.

Genevieve still remains Nigerians sweetheart argue it from now till tomorrow it won’t change the fact. I never see any other sweetheart since, if I see I go know

    • Belema

      June 25, 2017 at 8:41 pm

“it won’t change” says who? Cause one person he held a spot/position forever? Genevieve is your own sweetheart. She was never Nigeria’s sweetheart as there was a tie between her and Omotola, and even Bimbo Akintola and Ego Boyo at the time, and even if she was (which I don’t agree), she presently isn’t. Argue all you want, she isn’t Nigeria’s current sweetheart. Definitely not in this era.

      June 26, 2017 at 2:33 am

The most popular actor ur industry has ever produced. I don’t know why haters find it difficult to accept the fact. It’s obvious. She’s also a sweetheart in Cameroon

    • Abk

      June 26, 2017 at 6:16 pm

      George Esame,
You need to be a lot more rational. You cannot force someone to accept what they don’t agree to/with. Human beings will never be on the same page and opinions will always differ. Calling someone a “hater” because of conflicting opinions/views shows how unreasonable you are. And just so you know, not everything is hate. Some of you really need to upgrade your vocabulary.

Whose sweetheart? Nigerians can hype ehn. Choi. The same way the media used and dumped Osas, Adesuwa is next.

    • Belema

      June 25, 2017 at 8:37 pm

I beg to differ. Osas was never dumped, Aunt. In the music or movie industry, locally and internationally, new faces come up and you simply have to deal with it. That they talked about other new faces doesn’t mean they dumped Osas. Osas acted well in major movies, and series like Tinsel, she hosted AMVCA (Africa’s Oscars) twice. She still gets digs and she she’s doing well in her own right. She is still very much relevant. Adesua on the other hand is a just there actress, the only reason the media has been on about her these past couple of months is as a result of being engaged to Banky W; nothing more. I hope she doesn’t get carried away as today you’re the hot topic, tomorrow someone else is.

Bellanaijarians…you guys are mean, Iswearit. Han han, if people took your comments to heart, they’d almost wonder if there was anything good about them… the same Genevieve, you all are hyping now, when you start with her, she won’t recognize it. Mo gbedi fun yin…. Oluwa a so agbara dotun..

    • Ex

      June 25, 2017 at 8:49 pm

Who is hyping Genevieve? That a few people or some are saying she’s Nigeria’s sweetheart doesn’t mean she is, and doesn’t mean “you are all” hyping. Learn how to choose words and analyses accurately.

Genevieve is the star of nollywood. This is no hype .Ego Boyo and other s including Omotola will fade but never Genevieve .She is those kind of people you meet once in 2oo hundred years .Not like she is particularly a fantastic actress .If you have issues with this ,then ask God.

    • Uloma

      June 26, 2017 at 8:39 am

With Genevieve its all in the mystery. She mastered the art and keeps one gasping for more. where does she live? what does she drive? What does she eat? Who is she dating? Does she read blogs? Does she get annoyed? Can she dance? Where did she holiday last month? Does she turn up on Fridays? Where are her siblings and what do they do? Did she build a house in the villa for her parents? How many bags are in her wardrobe? and the big one? Who is really her daughter?. The day we have answers to these questions she becomes demystified. I love Genevieve’s style. Being a Celebrity is a school and I still believe she is the only one that has graduated with flying colours. Make one negative comment on any other celebrity’s page and watch them toss the toys out the pram! We need to have a course for our celebrity’s and the title should be “how to be a celebrity?” The only thing is that without the drama the hits online could diminish. Have a beautiful week everyone.

@Belema are you just waking up? It’s only you and a few others though in denial that did not know that Genevieve has been for many years and is still Nigeria’s sweetheart.. please just stop your lies that there was a tie between her and Omotola.. I don’t remember who started acting first but Genny had already gone far in national and international consciousness before Omotola suddenly woke up. let truth be told don’t twist it

    • Belema

      June 26, 2017 at 6:22 pm

Perhaps you are the one just waking up. From the comments, it’s CLEARLY not only me. That I have a different opinion doesn’t mean I’m in denial. Some of you are educated but still very much ignorant. That’s my opinion and to hell with your irrational ass if you can’t deal with it. You have your opinions, I have mine, others have theirs. That you disagree doesn’t mean I’m just waking up or in denial; that makes NO sense. The same way you think Genevieve is Nigeria’s sweetheart, is the same way others will say Bimbo Akintola, some others will Rita Dominic, some will even say Omotola Ekeinde, Ego Boyo or Kate Henshaw. I am not waking up; perhaps you just need to reset your brain. Cheers!

International where? Show me the film from the international market that took her seriously. She was an extra in half of a yellow sun and even that one bombed. Show me what has happened since Toronto showcase. Unless by international you mean she buys tickets and goes to visit. In which case, we are all international ?

Ehen…na this kyn thing I like…Adesua is a fantastic actress..she’s talented but I hope she doesn’t get carried away with all this banky w induced attention and focus on her craft….anyone saying she’s just a there actress is a hater….as for Genevieve, please there’s no argument, she is the best. She’s a legend, a genius…..she is a grand master of her craft….these young ones are learning where she is. Omotola is good too…..Nollywood is blessed with amazing talent, let’s appreciate them…..but ermmm I just need to say this, someone beg Bryan Okwara to stop acting, he is a horrible actor, even Beverly Naya dey struggle….OK bye

The hate is absolutely disgusting and if you go and check you’ll see these pathetic a** comments are mostly from women. And she’s definitely not a just “there” she’s a talented actress. And I’m very happy she’s doing well for herself. She’s be quite popular for some time now. It’s not her fault you people just started to notice her after she got engaged to bankyw. Only miserable and bitter folks will have a problem with someone being celebrated & just generally loved. You don’t like it Biko look away

I won’t use the word “hate”. Its more of, ” the thrill is no longer there”. It’ll be nice to see a new set People/faces in the entertainment industry. Etomi is definitely doing a good job as an actress but we the people want to see new faces ? The word “hate” is over used honestly. People are entitled to express their opinion!

      Zarah,
People will have different views, as hurtful as it sometimes might be, that’s just the way life is. I meet people and we agree to disagree. Everything in life isn’t always hate. I’m Cameroonian but if you have an argument with 65% of Nigerians, if you’re not on the same page; you’re then called a hater. I don’t know who this lady is, but many posts on her here, many blog visitors have mentioned she’s overhyped and getting attention cause of her engagement to a Nigerian musician, now you may not agree with it, I may not; it doesn’t however mean the people saying these things are haters.

The one that saids Genevieve is not Naija sweetheart. Either you are in denial or jealous hater . She’s not Nigerian sweetheart alone she’s Africa most respected and loved sweetheart and yet most have not even seen most of her work yet just a few. She doesn’t even speak yet she enters a room they #shooketh ? she’s a mystery and that’s even more attractive. Stop hating.

It’s not just actin that makes you a star. It’s one’s whole package and no one has it better than Gen. She has the complete package. Some are still learning .

You are either born with the IT factor or not. Genevieve is the queen.

And please y’all stop all the comparison. They all say in their interviews they look up to Genevieve and they give her respect.

Adesua is a beautiful sweet girl and a good actress. Let her shine. It’s her time. A few years from now someone else will come. Many are called but few are chosen. Why you think Tamia has a better voice than Beyonce but Beyonce became more famous. Cos Bee has the it factor. Adesua has the IT factor and I just feel haters have started bashing her cos she’s clearly winning across board. The more you hate you block your own blessing. OK so you don’t call it hate you call it “tired or bored” then wtf u click on the post.

Personally in the new genre who emerged in past few years my favorite are Ivie and adesua. They are all good and everyone has room to shine. IF your talent is in point (not the forever posing for photo mediocre Z list actresses)

I have hopes for Bisola too (as an actress,) as I did for Funke Alindele seeing her for just fives minutes in Sharon Stone. Some are destined to shine and you can’t really pinpoint what. You just know.

For those giving us excellent acting, continue, we are paying attention.

Over exposed where? I have not seen her in vanity Fair? Nigeria is one country. Let us stop pretending that because we know something or someone it means they are known everywhere else. Adesua is just starting out in the grander scheme of things. And if her work is great, she will go far. None of our words will get in the way of that. Which means, if after all these years Genevieve is still acting in only Nollywood, she is also an actress who has not quite made it. Same goes for Omotola, Dakore, Bimbo, etc. May this new generation achieve what their prefer did not but we thank them for pavilion the way.
