#MakurdiFloodReliefChallenge: Juliet Ibrahim calls on Nigerian Celebrities to donate to Flood Relief - BellaNaijaNollywood actress Juliet Ibrahim has called on her colleagues and other Nigerian celebrities to donate for and help the people displaced by the Makurdi flood.

Ibrahim made a video 0n her Instagram, saying she’s starting the #MakurdiFloodReliefChallenge to help those displaced by the flood.

To kick off the challenge, she will be personally donating N500,000 to the cause, she said.

He foundation, the Juliet Ibrahim Foundation, will also be donating N500,000.

She shared the post with a caption, writing about her experience as a refugee herself. She wrote.

Waking up to news about so many natural disasters happening around the world has been extremely devastating. The most recent ones that struck me were ‘Hurricane Harvey’ in Houston Texas, the mudslide’s in Sierra Leone, and now the flooding in Makurdi. Many families have lost everything, and even worse, many lives have been lost.
I’ve once lived as a refugee, and I know what it means to work for something, and lose it all in the blink of an eye. Hence my decision today, to donate. Starting with the most recent and nearest, I will be donating the sum of 500,000 Naira and another 500,000 Naira on behalf of The Juliet Ibrahim Foundation, to the Makurdi flood victims.
I am also using this opportunity to challenge my fellow colleagues, friends, and fans to join in. Let’s help out by donating to this cause. #MakurdiFloodReliefChallenge
I need my friends to step up to the challenge. Once you’ve accepted the challenge, simply post or tweet stating you have accepted and then tag those you’d like to challenge. You don’t have to announce the amount you are donating. The goal is to raise 10 Million Naira.

Celebrities are doing their bit abroad for the ‘Hurricane Harvey’ victims, and I pray we can also do it over here for the Makurdi flood victims.
You can donate into our bank account- JULIET IBRAHIM FOUNDATION – 1014682224 – Zenith Bank Nigeria
Please use the hashtag #MakurdiFloodReliefChallenge when donating.
No amount is too small, let’s all chip in.

God bless us all!

She tagged several Nigerian celebrities, including Funke Akindele, Mercy Johnson, AY, Olamide, Ubi Franklin, M.I, Toke Makinwa, Bobrisky, Wizkid, Tonto Dike, Timi Dakolo, Tiwa Savage, and Ycee.

You don’t know if they are donating silently. Why calling them names? Not every body needs to make a “show” you know.

Can you imagine? It took a Ghanaian celebrity to challenge Nigerians? And a Nigerian in diaspora Jidenna to initiate a help for fellow Nigerians in Benue the Nigerian food basket?
I don’t believe we have celebrities in the first instance rather we have celebrity wannabe
broke ass husslers fighting themselves for survival excluding Stephanie Linus ,superficial Chika Ike and a few others . That one called Genevieve Nnaji has not helped another soul at least not apparent as big as her name is. Our celebrities are only on social media ……….dont want to talk too much as other nationals are reading…. ……………………infighting and showing bad examples of marriage. Where is that parrot Chioma Akpota and her crew?Weldone Tu Baba and his team who already visited Benue.

Its not down to celebrities alone.quite needless and insensitive to pocket watch celebrities when you can contribute your quota. In the case of Hurricane Harvey, well meaning Americans donated/donating what they can.
Starting from me, I’ll do what I can.

Shutup and take several seats, Genevieve do not need to call out fellow celebs, she’s been supporting from her page and calling on her fans do same. You live on BN and judge when you do not know what’s going on…Anuofia

Na wa oh, what has Genevieve done to you for you to call her out like this? Well, it happens she had posted on Benue even before this post and she even interacted with her followers in the comments section, encouraging them to donate…

Biko take several seats……………………… that you donated does not mean others are not donating besides who says celebrities alone are to donate. All dem big churches ngwanu time to give back tithes and offering abi no be God people dey suffer now? every one has a role to play so stop hitting on celebrities alone

This Nene slf – Wetin Genevieve do you? I personally got to know about this Benue flood and the donations through Genevieve’s I.G account. Guess you aren’t following her. So, that Bella Naija did not report it did not mean, that she and others are not contributing in their own way.

Not a fan of Genevieve but she was one of Actor James Uche’s constant donors before he passed on. I agree Nigerian celebrities can do better though. In the case of the Chibok girls, it was only when the intentional community got involved that our celebrities took interest.

Its really good to know that people out there still have time to look into the life of others and dont just let their lives revolve around them and their families…This is really good to know

That Ninja turtle guy that sang ‘kilogbe’ also donated and raised awareness. Some of the Nigerian celebs are doing stuff too
