Retro, Disco, Glam! Get Ready for The Unofficial Christmas Party tagged ‘A Night At Studio 54’ on December 14th

You may have heard that The Unofficial Christmas Party is bringing back the 70’s this year for Lagos favorite shared corporate end-of-year party.

You’re probably thinking, the 70’s? Haven’t I seen it all?

You haven’t! Have a little faith here, there’s more to the era than Afros and Bellbottoms. There’s a lot to love about fashion, but what about the music, the moves, and the parties? We decided to help your imagination a little. Let’s call it a primer on The Party.

The Music

DJ Big N, our DJ for Friday, December 14th put together a little somethin’ somethin’ to remind you of the biggest hits from the 70s.

When to use: Late Nights in the office, singing out loud in the shower, cooking up a storm, so many options here people.

The Dance

What If you heard that the Shaku Shaku has its genesis from the classic 70’s move called ‘The Hustle‘. You wouldn’t believe it right? Good call, that’s definitely false. But in the 70’s they were just as crazy about learning new dance moves as are we are today. Most of the moves thankfully stayed in the 70’s i.e. The Bump, Funky Chicken, The Robot Dance. But you know what for one day only (Friday 14th December) you have permission to bring it back.

When to Use: Soul train line at your next wedding, in front of the mirror, definitely not while driving, get creative!

Studio 54

The theme for this year’s Unofficial Christmas Party is Studio 54. As in the nightclub famous for being more than a little wild (cough cough). Please see horse entrance below. Go big or go big, that was the motto (no typo there my friend)! Should we have a horse at the #PartyAtStudio54? These are the kind of questions our event planners are asking.

When to use: Possibly to arrive at The Unofficial Christmas Party this year. Taxify won’t mind.
