Elegance and Excellence: Highlights from the 8th EMY Africa Awards

Elites from Nigeria and Ghana gathered in grandeur and style for the 8th Emerging Men of the Year (EMY) Africa Awards, held at the Grand Arena in Accra, Ghana, to celebrate distinguished gentlemen in diverse fields making an impact in society.

Hosted with grace and charisma by Nancy Isime and Nathaniel Attoh, this event transcended expectations by recognising not only men but also women who have made profound contributions to society. It was a night characterized by glitz, talent, and a profound sense of inspiration, underscoring the relentless pursuit of greatness and purpose that defines Africans.

From the vibrant blue and red carpets, graced by dignitaries, business executives and entertainers, to the exquisite dinner and electrifying performances from Efya, Cobhams Asuquo, and Camidoh, the 8th EMY Africa Awards was a testament to the organisers’ commitment to excellence.

The awards celebrated luminaries and leaders from diverse domains, ranging from the glittering world of entertainment and the dynamic field of entrepreneurship to the noble realm of philanthropy and the hallowed halls of academia. It was a night of inspiration, with each award bestowing recognition upon the remarkable contributions made by its deserving recipients.

  • Dele Momodu for a special recognition as the foremost cultural ambassador between Nigeria and Ghana
  • Mr. Eazi: Young Achiever award – Male
  • Black Sherrif: Man of the Year -Music
  • Olugbenga Agboola: Man of the Year – Technology
  • Beatrice Agyemang: Woman of the Year
  • Alex Apau Dadey: Man of the Year

The EMY Africa Awards also took a moment to honor youths making a difference in their communities, providing them a platform to share their stories and inspire others through the Hamza Hakiel El Kharroubi Youth Changemaker Award.

The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to, Ablade Glover, a distinguished individual whose life’s work has profoundly impacted society, serving as a beacon of hope and an inspiration to young people.
