Thando’s Launches Bridal Collection in Lagos with 2011 Miss Universe Leila Lopes | See all the Fun Photos!
Foot relief on the way for fashionable Lagos brides!
Thando’s – African brand of foldable ballerina flats – held an invite-only soft launch on Sunday 23rd August 2015 for their upcoming bridal collection. The event was held at Grey Velvet Boutique in the Centro Lekki Mall.
The soft launch was hosted by Thando’s brand ambassador, Leila Lopes. JG Ayodele (Thando’s co-founder) said “Leila’s glamorous rose gold ballerina flats from our Behind The Scenes Collection were such a huge hit with brides that it inspired us to launch Thando’s Bridal.” “Leila designed 2 shoes for the upcoming bridal collection; one made of pearl white fabric and the other made of silver vegan leather,” he added. “Brides should be comfortable while remaining stylish on their special day” said Thando’s founders, Taffi and JG Ayodele during their presentation.
Guests were treated to Cointreau Fizz Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres and cupcakes. Oleander Catering served as the caterers for this event. Guests also used M&M candies to vote on the shoe design that will serve as Leila’s signature shoe in the bridal collection.
Check out photos from the soft launch below!

What a lackluster showcase of the shoes. I was totally underwhelmed.
On the other hand, plenty eye-candy for the ladies…

Look up Uru… When you are at events such as these ladies, boring or not, look up and smile at other people, not into your phone or ipad. We miss the stuff and i dont mean men only, when all we do is look at our devices.

Ehm, where are the bridal shoes? Just that silver and gold pair?? I own a pair of the gold and they are so not comfortable to walk long distances in. Nice concept though. Hope they focus on improving the quality esp. with regards to comfort for feet…

If I decide to wear flats on my big day, it won’t be ballet flats. I’d want something open toe, to show off my pedi and nail Polish. Long & short of what I’m trying to say is I’d prefer sandals. Girly, fun, beautiful bridal-ish sandals.
This company should look towards that angle and not focus on ballet flats only.

The presentation by the owners was very good. They are onto something with these foldable shoes. My best friend is getting married next year and I wouldn’t mind getting the silver shoe as a gift. Could even use them after the wedding sef.

these things have been in Primark for years abeg. I bought a few back in my uni days; they were handy for when you got too drunk and couldn’t walk in them heels any more….
