Last night was the opening night of war drama “Eclipsed,” written by the award-winning playwright Danai Gurira.

The play stars award-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o who is making a New York stage debut with ‘Eclipsed’.

Set in 2003 near the end of the civil war in Liberia, the play is about a group of women who are captives of rebels fighting the government.

The opening night was attended Saycon Sengbloh, Pascale Armand, Akosua Busia, director Liesl Tommy, Zainab Jah, Oskar Eustis and more.

Remember in March when we reported the possibility of Common and Lupita dating? He was on hand to support her for her big night.

Thank God you said the possibility, as she has also been linked to Jared Leto and that musician. Kudos to her on this play, dont get her hair though. Transitioning from short hair to long seems like an issue for Lupita, why doesnt she just let it grow and then rock it as an afro instead of combining the natural hair with extensions as this looks really tacky.

This photography did a very poor job. Dark pictures making all the red carpet look tacky.

Love all the positive and supportive comments. Whoever said women were nasty and catty were dead wrong! Yes, that was sarcasm.
