Award-Winning Recording Artiste & Philanthropist Nikki Laoye is our #BellaNaijaWCW this Week



Oyenike Laoye-Oturu popularly known as Nikki Laoye is an award winning recording artiste, singer, songwriter, and philanthropist.

Her debut single “Never Felt this Way Before” produced by Cobhams brought her to limelight. It gained wide acceptance across Nigeria, making her one of the contemporary gospel artistes in the country whose music had mainstream appeal.

Since then, Nikki Laoye has gone on to release two albums – Angel for Life and 123

She’s also performed radio jingles for top brands in Nigeria, as well as movie soundtracks.

She’s been featured on BET, MTV Base, and has performed with top international gospel artistes at the 2009 “The Experience” concert.

She’s been honoured with several awards such as City People Entertainment Awards, HipHop World Awards (now The Headies), Soundcity Music Video Awards, Nigeria Gospel Music Awards, NEA Awards (US), Nigeria Music Video Awards, Africa Gospel Music Awards (UK), and Crystal Gospel Awards.

Nikki’s impact is not only through music. In 2010, she founded Angel for Life Foundation that helps to develop the creativity of physically challenged youths. She’s also involved in the management of Music Therapy Clinic of Modupe Cole Home for the Physically and Mentally Challenged, in Lagos.

In 2013, she was unveiled as the celebrity “Voice of Refugees” by the Nigerian National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI).

She was also honoured as Humanitarian of the Year by the World Hope Foundation for her humanitarian activities and in commemoration of the 2015 World Humanitarian Day.

      See your life. Everything there and all you could talk about is her not bleaching. I’m sure you bleach and you hate yourself for it.

    Yeah she totally deserves this honor. Many don’t know the great work she’s been doing, working with the federal government to empower and support Internally Displaced Persons in Nigeria. Proud of her. Well done BN
