Court orders Injunction stopping Tonto Dikeh from showing son King Andre on Reality TV Show - BellaNaija

A Lagos State Magistrate Court has stopped Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh from airing any likeness of her son King Andre in her upcoming reality TV show “King Tonto.”

Tonto had revealed back in December 2017, that she would be airing a no-holds-barred own reality TV show on Linda Ikeji TV, showing her cosmetic surgery and her life as a mother.

In the injunction issued by the court, it was revealed that her son King Andre and her ex-husband Olakunle Churchill with whom she is currently embroiled in a battle for the child’s custody, had sued to not have the child’s likeness appear in the TV show.

Their lawyer, Anthonette Williams-Chukwu, had on the 11th of January filed the motion against Tonto Dikeh, Linda Ikeji Media Limited, and Linda Ikeji.

The court, ordering an interim injunction, asked that the child’s name, face, image, likeness and picture not air, show, be disseminated or broadcasted either through the television, blogs or the world wide web.

@Slice… The matter was filed as a matter of urgency, it’s an Exparte Injunction . The Court did not need to hear from Tonto/the respondents before granting the Order. The matter is not over yet, coz I am sure that with this Court Order now, The respondents can now approach the court and put up their defence.

The request was filed more than a week ago on the 19th. The court is responding on the 31st. There was plenty of time to hear from respondents in between. The judge is either abusing its discretion or being lazy. There is no legal requirement to grant an ex parte request without allowing for a response

@slice It is an exparte order. If you translate that it literally means without one party. They are granted in times of urgency and are only valid for 14 days.

Just a random question please; is there anything wrong in putting very young children in online reality shows? does it have any detrimental effect on them? or is do so

I don’t think there’s anything wrong but the parents have to be in agreement. If you watch Keeping up with the Kardashians, you’ll notice that Kim’s children make rare appearances and sometimes they don’t their faces.Kim said she had the discussion with her hubby who rarely shows too compared to Kourtney and her kids.I know divorce is hard and it is worse when the couple is at each other’s throat but Tonto needed to discuss this with her ex husband first.
