laughing out loud@” I got a headache just looking at ur red hair coupled with ur bright red lipstick.”

The popping was just a little bit elm, over the top (lol, get it?! over the top! hehehe I crack myself up) Anyway thats what happens when you buy a corset dress two sizes smaller. Genny looks elegant pour toujour!

Some of the men may have mis-understood the IV, black-tie event = formal not caftan/kaftan with pams. Hey, it all depends on how you feel because this is Africa. Viva Africa, viva!

    • Ready March 31, 2011 at 12:57 AM

A few ladies rocked the red carpet including Genevieve, many of the older women, and most of the chicks who wore white, however:
Does that chick really call herself Fragrance? Fragrance? Really? No other name in the world? It had to be fragrance? SMH.
The bust of Goldie’s dress is too tight; I can hear her ta-tas singing “You got me begging you for mercy/why won’t you release me?”
Ruby Dabour…yes, it’s a ball but must you display the entirety of your own set?
Empress Njamah..LO-freaking-L. What the deuce? What is on your head and your lips?
Ara: Umm, boo…put down the bedazzler.

    • partyrider March 31, 2011 at 1:01 AM

    • Jess March 31, 2011 at 2:33 AM

This black carpet is quite..something. The girl tagged “Fragrance”, even if that’s just a stage name, FAIL. Oh and I always find myself wondering how long it takes Dayo Ephraim to get in and out of his trousers/jeans. So darn skinny.

    • Yeoal March 31, 2011 at 2:35 AM

Even though Some people goofed big time, some people brought their A game to the red carpet. All in all I am sure they had fun.

    • THE AMAKA March 31, 2011 at 3:58 AM

Treasure and Tracy Daniels are cute, but WRONG OUTFIT.
Empress Njamah is sooooooo wrong from head to toe! is it every style that is meant for everybody? leave it for Rihanna, BIKO NU!!!!
anyway….Genevieve looked cute….just wasn’t feeling the ruffles as much though. black and white ball….okay. year after year it always looks sorta tacky to me and the backdrop is like newspaper or something? na wa! but its just another event for the Lagos socialites. lol
and why so much BOOB CLEAVAGE?! its too much. some ladies need to tone it down.
      other than that, THANKS BELLA!

genny rocks, @chi, you were asking of the belt, i think it accentuates her waistline, stop criticising unjustly

      • chi March 31, 2011 at 4:58 PM

Sweetheart, you failed to anwer my question which is, should she have worn that bold belt with the feathers on the neck of the dress? I think not. There are rules for accessorizing. Mwuah!

    • Zizi March 31, 2011 at 2:36 PM

      Genny’s dress is by Kinabuti.

    • Yemi March 31, 2011 at 2:47 PM

Genny come on now that belt on that dress is such a no no. But think she still managed to look the best in this pictures. Talk about the one eyed man in the kingdom of the blind.

      • The Diva March 31, 2011 at 4:37 PM

        you just spoke my mind………………

    • korin March 31, 2011 at 3:07 PM

From where do I start? D1 Adeneye looks nice but his wife? From the dress to the shoes to the Jacket abi na coat to the hair. Pls you do need to consult whoever when going for occassions like this!! You cant just throw on anything that catches your eyes…
Yvonne Vixen Ekwere as usual looks nice….not overboard. just nice and simple…girl knows how it’s done!!!
Sasha I aint feeling…looks like she took a simple tube dress and tried to re-create frankeinstein….that waterproof thing on her neck is distracting me so bad, I gotta scroll down!
      Basorge Tariah Jnr..RESPECT!!
Tewa Onasanya, I know the look you were going for but sadly, you fell short…and makes you come off looking rough and untidy…like you just got off a bike! :-(
Goldie, Goldie, Goldie, how many times did I call? I have never been a fan of this style of dresses where you add a train to a nice simple knee-length dress and to top it, you are wearing this bra that forces even a-cups to stand at attention. Tacky, Tacky, Tacky.
Fragrance…Abeg, No comment! Some peeps take this dress code thing too serious…Black and white ball abi? ROFL hard! Okay, let me get up!
Ishioma Onyeabo…I liked everything until I got to the shoes….somehow, I don’t like- Now I’m not saying it’s not nice- don’t grt me wrong her…but I can’t put my finger on what I dont like here.
Empress Njamah…Nice dress, Nice shoes, THE END. What I love best about this girl her is she turns up to events all smiles, with the knowledge that YES!!! I have done it again. YES EMPRESS, YOU DONE DID IT. The hair, the red eye shadow…This girl will NEVER GET IT RIGHT, and she knows!!
Adaora Ukoh…Simple and nice looking, but must you always show off your cleavage?
Kenny St. Brown…knowing your history in the past with the fashion police, I turn my eyes away because you don’t look harassed this time…
      Oby Edozien…same same, nothing new…………

      I will be back!

    • ijeoma March 31, 2011 at 3:15 PM

@chi , thanks i thought exactly thesame oh. LOL…Bella Naija is slowly turning into old naijarules before the scales fell off their eyes…genevieve maids…wrong combination with a bold statement on the neck, then she added that bold belt and a shoe that dosent fit??? big hiss…..

    • Jade March 31, 2011 at 4:06 PM

is it me or isnt the overall look of the males way better than the females, well empress u bright oh, i couldnt see past the red hair, u go girl that requires a copious amount of guts and attitude.

    • Chichi. March 31, 2011 at 4:15 PM

Nawaooooo!! Na who send Empress Njamah!!

    • Hali March 31, 2011 at 4:42 PM

      Empress – free Rihanna…

    • primrose March 31, 2011 at 5:13 PM

      empress empress empress but why?

    • MeeT March 31, 2011 at 6:14 PM

There is nothing wrong with the belt. It accentuated her waist and without the belt that would have been a flowing gown that would have hid her great figure.

    • bobbydox March 31, 2011 at 6:18 PM

lol@ Chichi na ogunu calabar send empress lmaoooooooooooooooooo
ok red carpet and men in Nigeria is becoming so cruel and an eye sore if they do not stop now maybe i would blame organizers of events or what do u all think when you put the event with its value and make sure dresses people to this event are very strict ok just imagine what people wore to AMAA nonsense and rubbish red carpet eye sore only a few men here pulled the super star struck red carpet look and 20% ladies rather bad to say but more paparazzi and education on what to wear on the red-carpet must be on the front line by all fashion blogger so that they would learn

    • icallspanx March 31, 2011 at 9:04 PM

Looks to me there is a market niche for spanx in Nigeria. Every woman no matter ur size should own one if u are goin to wear a fitted dress. Even models wear them.Haba!!!!!!!!!

    • OMO March 31, 2011 at 9:25 PM

GENNY did it for me again best dressed.seriously whats with the RED hair empress, sasha pls donot combine both again not in this era.

    • Faridah March 31, 2011 at 9:28 PM

    • u know March 31, 2011 at 11:38 PM

common genevieve no offence but it wasnt a semi nude scene, wheres ur bra???

    • Roli April 1, 2011 at 12:27 AM

the females, on average, dresses quite poorly. I mean, what on earth is “Ara” rocking???? Empress, I seriously have nothing to say, uve left me stumped

    • Zara April 1, 2011 at 12:58 AM

      YEPA!
WE NEED TO START FLOGGING THESE PEOPLE WITH KOBOKO!
      X_x

    • Tosin April 1, 2011 at 1:06 AM

Dayo’s tux is spot on, and his wife Caroline looks like a sweet heart (but while i’m no expert in ladies fashion, I think his Caroline’s shoes are a misguided decision)
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vq0KQanIh_0

      • Salama April 1, 2011 at 6:06 PM

As a woman I can tell you that that choice IS very misguided. See as the shoes just dey chunky like agege bread. She should have gone for a more svelte, sophisticated shoe.

    • Wiklo April 1, 2011 at 4:14 AM

      Genny’s shoes are plain wrong!

    • Wiklo April 1, 2011 at 4:23 AM

D1 needs to hem/clip his pants appropriately when next he dorns a black tie.

    • adetoke April 1, 2011 at 8:57 AM

empress….its a no no no for me nd gene u go gal…..i like d shoes!

    • yinka April 1, 2011 at 10:28 AM

      OMG…where to start from??
Mrs Adeneye, we are now in 2011, no longer in 1992. pls dress to suit the decade ur in. and whoever advised u to wear those shoes is ur worst enemy.
Fragrance (really) this is not ur high skool prom.
Empress… i av one word for u “body Magic”. the hair and lips issue have been (rightfully) over flogged so i’ll jst stay quiet.
that babe standing behind ara in the blonde full fringe weave… its not by force to attend these events. if u dont av anything good to wear or ur having a horible hair day, please stay at home.
kenny saint brown aka morticia adams… well youve never been the best of dressers and u didnt disappoint. but for posterity sake, the fact that its a Black and White ball doesnt mean u av to be attired entirely in black from head to toe!

    • dot April 1, 2011 at 10:49 AM

I blame empress njamahz friends! Dey r mean! Aw cn dey allow ha leav d house like dt! Smh

GENNY, classy as usual, love the dress the shoes, oh everything,,,,

    • Yemi April 1, 2011 at 8:39 PM

@MeeT there’s everything wrong with THIS PARTICULAR BELT. A slimmer and less bold belt would have sufficed.

    • Saffroneta April 1, 2011 at 11:02 PM

The lady at the end ….her dress looks really hot …i want that !

    • beezy April 2, 2011 at 2:48 AM

    • Zizi April 6, 2011 at 1:10 PM

Can’t people be creative in deciding what to wear to a themed event? Gosh! Tacky, tacky, tacky..

    • haity April 7, 2011 at 12:27 PM

Genny managed to look very nice compared to the others, but combining the big bold belt with the feathers one her neck was too much! if she needed to accentuate her waist, a simple slim belt would av done the magic without making it look wrong.

    • anon April 9, 2011 at 7:18 PM

Mrs Ighodalo is simply GORGEOUS. They both make a handsome couple. Genny looks beautiful.

    • leke April 27, 2011 at 11:16 AM
