      Philanthropy[edit]

Omotola became a United Nations WFP (World Food Programme) Ambassador in 2005 going to missions in Sierra- Leone and Liberia. Omotola has been active in the Walk the World project and participated in the Walk the World campaign in Liberia with President Ellen Sir Leaf-Johnson.[22]

Omotola is known as a fierce Human Rights campaigner and her philanthropy efforts are centered on her NGO project, called the Omotola Youth Empowerment Programme (OYEP). The undertaking brings hundreds of youths together for the Empowerment Walk and Convention.[23]

Omotola lent her voice in 2010 to the Rewrite The Future Campaign of Save The Children UK.[24]

Omotola became an Amnesty International campaigner in 2011 and has participated in campaigns in Sierra- Leone (Maternal Mortality) and her recent campaign of The Niger Delta in Nigeria, where she shot a video asking Shell and the Government to Own Up, Clean Up, Pay Up and take responsibility of the Oil spills in the Niger- Delta

I think it is downright rude for you to say she is trying to be like Omotola just because she is speaking at a Business school. Is Omotola the first person in the public eye to ‘speak’? Truth is there is nothing new under the sun. I will be here waiting & watching to see what you will all do that nobody else has ever done before.

Genny didnt go to university or have a higher degree. I wonder what rubbish she will say. Out of all the intellectuals in nija, a school dropout is picked. Nah wah o. Very mediocre.

Lol look at this hater trying to make genny look good….genny is a wannebe and you know it..
Omotola attended Chrisland School Opebi (1981-1987), Oxford Children School (1987), Santos Layout, Command Secondary School Kaduna,(1988-1993), she had a brief stint at Obafemi Awolowo University and finally completed her studies at Yaba College of Technology Yaba (1996-2004), where she studied Estate Management.

Which one is the omotola way??? The need for you gyys to compare everything people do to another is bcoming too much. If genny takes a direction towards motivational speaking and being an activist or whatever is just what they as celebrities do. They lend their voice to the society and try to give back to the same society that has given her sooo much.. if she doesn’t use her fame to speak up,or encourage young people ,the same you people would say “genny needs to get down from her high horse” …. stop being judgemental!

    May 31, 2014 at 2:48 am

I see Omotola is now the custodian of public speaking… Mscheew.

Only thing I can say; Genevieve Nnaji has the ugliest pair of FEET in this world!
    There, I said it!

  16. what insolence!

    May 31, 2014 at 8:53 am

ok, i am sorry but why do they have to use school cert holders as speaker in an BUSINESS School seminar. She needs the talk from the Business school students not the other way around

  17. Msjoy

    May 31, 2014 at 10:12 am

I am surprised at what a lot of people write, Genevieve didn’t just take the microphone to speak at the Lagos School of Business, the institution must have found her worthy as a speaker before they put her on their program. Just be happy for her that she has brains as well as beauty. Both Omotola and Gene have their role to play in life, and as the opportunity arise let them take their place.

Genevieve’s name was not on the booklet she was an after thought. She and her team probably asked to be added . Omotola headlines speeches I.e THE WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM not with this hungry looking Nigerian arranged UNICEF . For crying out loud, this lady up there is a joke! She even posted on the pictures on her Instagram by herself! Lol… Bellanaija pls don’t waste my opinion. Thanks.

    • Amy

      May 31, 2014 at 4:21 pm

Are you serious? If she and her team have that kind of audacity and authority to ask to be added and it was done, do you not think that that shows that they thought her worthy of it? And posting the pictures on HER instagram? Last time I checked, it was HER instagram. You do not have to check her page and as such you will not be so pained. LOL to headlining speeches. As one commenter said, Omotola is now the custodian of public speaking, eh? LOL to that too. Is it possible that both of them can exist in this world? Some of the commenters trying to prove who was a star first. LOL again.

there is a reason why people are awarded honorary degrees. Education is not just about sitting down in the classroom and listening to an instructor. Education can be acquired or gotten from job and life experiences. There is absolutely no need for you to mention her level of certified education. Probably you are a PhD holder but her level of exposure is not what a classroom education can get you. Y’all better not get it twisted

How many school did Steve Jobs and Bill Gates go to? Do they not speak based on the success of their chosen profession? Nigerians and university mentality that is the reason why a guy with a phd will want to be a driver for a Dangote who we are not even sure went to school… Consumer mentality…. hiss.
