Winners Emerge as Oxfam hosts its Female Food Heroes Award 2014!
Platinum Hotel and Suite was brought to a standstill when it hosted Oxfam’s Female Food Heroes Award 2014 on Friday 21st November 2014.
After spending one whole week in the house event where the search for the most outstanding female farmer was carried out, Marian Balafama Buhari was filled with tears of joy as she was announced the winner of the Female Food Hero Awards and bagged a whooping sum of 250,000 Naira.
She was also followed through by the 2nd place winner, Monica Joshua Magari from Kaduna State bagging the sum of 200,000 Naira as well as the 3rd place winner, Chinasa Earnestina Asonye from Lagos State being rewarded with the sum of 150,000 Naira for their outstanding hard work and competence.
The colorful event was attended by top notch dignitaries both home and abroad such as Marc Wegerif (Food and land Rights Advisor with Oxfam) from South Africa as well as Karima Ibrahim Babangida (FMARD), Prince Gbolahan Lawal (Honorable Commissioner for Agriculture in Lagos State) and Dr. Joe Odumakin (Women rights activist/President of Rights Group for the Women Arise for Change Initiative) among others.
