Former PDP National Chairman, Audu Ogbe will on January 4th, inaugurate the sale of five million tubers of yam donated by farmers to raise N5 billion for the Buhari/Osinbajo presidential campaign.

Felicia Yakzum, Public Relations Officer of APC Micro Finance Cooperative Society Ltd, said in a statement on Thursday in Jos that the sales would commence at Mararaban Demshin in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau.

She said that APC had organised a New Year wrestling tournament and the “Job Opportunities for Osinbajo and Buhari Supporters (JOOBS)” would also be inaugurated.

Yakzum said Ogbe was behind the yam initiative and has been appointed chairman for the sales.

The spokesperson said JOOBS on the other hand, would create opportunities to unemployed youths nationwide to be engaged meaningfully to enhance their lives.

Yakzum said, “we have constituted a committee charged with the responsibility of creating job opportunities for youth supporters of the Muhammadu Buhari/ Yemi Osinbajo ticket.”

She said those targeted were secondary school leavers, retrenched workers, pensioners, physically challenged persons, and the internally displaced with valid voter’s cards.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) was established by the Federal Government of Nigeria in May 1976 to gather and distribute news on Nigeria and cover events of interest to Nigeria at the international level for the benefit of the Nigerian Media and the Public.

I often wonder who are the fools- the politicians or ordinary Nigerians like you who can’t be bothered to spell correctly and who then vote for Jonathan and his PDP mob

This is probably the most excellent fundraising campaign ever done in Nigeria! Whether one does or does not support Buhari, the idea must be lauded. Obviously each tuber would be sold for N1,000 and the buyers would feel like participants in the campaign. Excellent crowdfunding initiative!

I SO MUCH BELIEVE IN THE BUHARI PRESIDENCY. I PRAY THE BETTER PERSON WINS THOUGH. BUT THE FACT THAT APC IS FILLED WITH PDP MEMBERS BOTHERS ME. THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS!!!!! I DON’T TRUST THEM A BIT! NAWA O, WE WILL WAIT AND SEE SHA. WHATEVER HAPPENS, IT MUST BE FOR THE BEST. LET’S SEE WHAT BUHARI HAS TO OFFER NIGERIANS. BUT THEN AGAIN, THEY SAY, “THE DEVIL YOU KNOW IS BETTER THAN THE ANGEL YOU DON’T KNOW” NO DEVIL CAN BE BETTER THAN ANY ANGEL SO WE’LL SEE.

    GOD BLESS YOU.

Mosiwomeka, not all APC members were PDP people- Buhari wasn’t, Tinubu was never in the PDP, neither were the likes of Fashola and Osinbajo. Decamping from PDP to another party can’t be a bad thing and should even be lauded- perhaps those who decamped were fed up with PDP, which in the long run can only be good for democracy- PDP can’t always have its way and could do with a far bit of competition

I still believe Buhari will rule better than Jonathan. I don’t know how GEJ that couldn’t fix Nigeria for the past 6years will fix it for 4years that he’s requesting for.

The epidemic of bad grammar on social media is appalling, I guess we should blame Jonathan for that as well.

I still remain amazed at how easily we resort to insults in the most simple discussions. Someone states their opinion and since we disagree, we insult and call them names. I have read several of @AdaNnewi’s comments and I cannot by any stretch of the imagination call her illiterate. On the other hand, @Beautiful did not say anything that sounded uneducated – people do pay people to spread information/misinformation online.
In addition to good leadership, we need good followership to make Nigeria better. We are that followership. No matter what leader we get in 2015 if we cannot rationaly debate and exchange viewpoints, we will be divided and screwed by politricktians who are looking for only their own (

      @NagosBigBoi;
why are you bothered; if you visit this blog often you should know better. I wonder how some people sleep at night with so much hate. After insulting others and you expect Gods blessing. God is not a partial God and cant be fooled. Happy new year folks; this is our year of accomplishments.

what is the point re-election Jonathan. we the people have seen/witnessed/observed etc.. how he ruled Nigeria and to be honest most of us, if not all are totally disappointed. i think it is fair and rational to give someone else this opportunity. what promises can Jonathan give us or say that will guarantee that change, we have heard him promise heaven and earth but we have not seen anything that we can say we are proud of…. all we saw and heard was promises, even the issue of abducting our girls. and the rest. see, this is coming from a good heart but if we keep re-electing people that we know cannot lead Nigeria, truth be told we will never grow. i am not saying Buhari is the best man to win but lets say he is for argument sake… why shouldnt we give him the opportunity to prove himself? just like we the Nigerians gave Jonathan the opportunity to rule Nigeria. let us also give another the chance and the opportunity to rule Nigeria. i would tell you this, there is nothing new that Jonathan would offer to Nigeria, after ruling Nigeria for a considerate amount of years and nothing to show for it then there is no much difference if he should win. we should also remember that it is us (masses) that can make a change by choosing those who will make a change not those who promise a change but never deliver. i am a youth and when i think about my future in Nigeria and the ideas that i have sometimes i wonder if they can come true….. because Nigeria serves little or nothing to the youth. So for anything i think it is fair and just to give another person the same opportunity that was giving to Jonathan (who couldnt deliver anything but his empty promises). please!!! and note no one sent me to write this , its just out of pain, tears, worry and doubts that i am writing this……
by no means am i looking for trouble please if you dont agree with i have written down, just reframe from name calling and sate how you feel…
