At the gathering of eminent writers, poets, literary and art enthusiasts who graced the weeklong Ake Art and Book Festival, Etisalat Nigeria was praised for promoting African literary talents through one of its flagship proprietary platforms; The Etisalat Prize for Literature.
The customer centric network also received high marks for its support of arts and literary initiatives such as the Ake Art and Book festival which it has supported for the last four editions.

Helon Habila, renowned writer and chair of the judging panel of the 2016 Etisalat Prize for Literature announced the longlist for the 2016 Etisalat Prize for Literature at the festival and said the Prize is a strategic initiative for developing the publishing industry in Africa.
The Etisalat book lounge was a beehive of activity as literary enthusiasts swooped on it to enjoy the opportunity provided to read some of the long-listed books for the Etisalat Prize for Literature.
The star attraction for them was the rare opportunity to buy any of the long-listed books at discounted rates which is part of Etisalat’s strategy of making the books available to book lovers and also encouraging writers and publishers in Africa.
The Etisalat Prize aims to serve as a platform for the discovery of new creative talent out of the continent and invariably the promotion of the growing publishing industry in Africa. In doing this 1000 copies of all shortlisted books will be purchased by Etisalat Nigeria and donated to schools, book clubs and libraries across Africa.
