Variety has reported that the Grammys have lost out on having one of the most popular artists today perform at their show after a disagreement.

Sources have reportedly revealed that singer Ariana Grande will neither be performing at the show, nor even attending it.

They say she felt “insulted” after the producers initially refused to allow her perform “7 Rings,” her recent number 1 hit from the forthcoming album “Thank U, Next.”

A compromise was said to have been reached, with the producers conceding, saying she could perform “7 Rings” but only as part of a medley, and the second song would be chosen by them.

Ariana is nominated twice in the February 10 show, both for Best Pop Vocal Performance for “God Is a Woman” and Best Pop Vocal Album for “Sweetener.”

This is a repeat of a controversy from 2018 after Album of the Year nominee Lorde refused to perform after producers insisted she couldn’t perform a song from her “Melodrama” album, and offered to have her perform a Tom Petty tribute instead, which she refused.
