How #BellaNaijaMCM Jesse Osiobe of Farmkart Foods is Promoting Youth Inclusion in Agriculture
In the last few years, more and more platforms with a focus on agriculture have been springing up in Nigeria, leveraging on tech as well as other avenues to attract the youth to the sector which has hitherto been seen as an industry for the old.
Young people are championing this new move, getting fellow youths interested, as well as helping existing farmers grow their yield with the use of technology.
One of the young individuals who’s leading a new-age agricultural movement is our #BellaNaijaMCM this week. He’s Jesse Osiobe, the Founder and CEO of FarmKart Foods.
Farmkart is “an agric-tech platform where people can invest in livestock farming to increase local food production, support farmers and get returns on their investment.”
Farmkart is building an investment vehicle for agriculture through crowdfunding. The platform’s goal is to make in impact on food security, support local farmers by creating capital and jobs, as well as promoting youth inclusion in agriculture.
