This week, it’s like the world went back to being upside-down. Everyone was just mad and upset and things weren’t just normal. Think we’re exaggerating? See for yourself.
Mona Lisa on Braids
As per fine babe, one girl on Twitter wanted to celebrate herself, so she shared a photo of herself. But she didn’t quite get the response she expected. Why? Because she wore braids.
Black women on Twitter entered the same trousers with the babe. They told her she wasn’t pretty. They told her she was appropriating their culture. They told her to take her braids off.
They said they’re regularly criticised for wearing the same hairstyle, so the hispanic woman must take out her braids. It’s 2019, two wrongs make a right! Surely, her taking our her braids will make braids a more acceptable hairdo for black women.

Y’all really expect bw to take these things as a compliment, when just 10 years ago we were literally bullied for our culture. Now a white girl tears her edges lose & were the haters. Like we didn’t just get laws passed in 2019 allowing us to wear these styles w/o consequences? https://t.co/6pyLItYddD
— Jonne Mae ? (@Jonne_Mae) August 4, 2019
No one is saying she looks bad. She looks great! What’s wrong is children BLACK children are being pulled out of school. BLACK women are not getting jobs Bc of our hair styles. And then other races wear it for aesthetics and get praised for it https://t.co/IRGPdg2Gwq

You throw around words like “cultural appropriation” and “blackfishing” when you clearly have no clue what those words mean. https://t.co/W0YeguDx0L

End Time Strippers
Imagine Jesus coming back because of bum bum.
Nigerians will see women in bikini and be shouting end time, but their pastors are rapists and their politicians are stealing and the world is not coming to an end. But that is not even the issue.
The issue is the smelling statement the Federal Government released. The same government that runs this country oo. Talking about it being “‘Jezebelistic” and a sin “against the Nigerian culture.” Biko, what is a sin against culture again? And since when is being a Jezebel a crime? Na inside 2000BC Rome we dey? Dear FG, the problem here is public indecency. Remove religion and face the law.
People who have absolutely no idea what the Nigerian culture is, who have been reset with colonial settings, talking about it destroying “centuries-old and rich Nigerian culture.” Please ?.
Ok. My Lagos people this is a stretch. Una well done pic.twitter.com/ZhywRz5T5B

A while ago, I realized that a lot of Christians typically scream ‘end times’ when referring to an occurrence that poses as a threat to their hyper conservative & outmoded worldview.
This just reinforces that belief. The world isn’t coming to an end, your perception of it is. https://t.co/fJN4ERm28w
— Zi (@Ziziian) August 3, 2019
It’s important to note when ‘end times’ is said. It shows what people will tolerate and what they won’t. Suffering, deaths and poverty are a-okay. Twerking though? Women’s rights? Music? LGBT rights? End times!

really hate people who see the tiniest display of libertinism & say the world is coming to an end. centuries of genocide, poverty, hunger, the endless evil of man didn’t end the world, but strippers in a bus = Armageddon. you must be a fool. https://t.co/8sy8Yw94zm

Lol. Love it! Liberal Lagos. Late enough that most kids will be in bed. Certainly caught people’s attention.
What were they advertising? Swimwear? Maybe Quilox is trying to boost attendance in a post-Ambode era?

Yele Sowore was arrested, and Nigerians aren’t having it. It’s become our reality now, for the government to detain dissenters. That is what Nigeria has become.
And it’s gotten worse.
Nigerians went out en masse to protest and what happened? They were shot at and arrested. Protesting that is our human right, our government is shooting and arresting us for it. And this same government will shout Jezebelistic when they see women in bikini.

Ambode & the Frozen ₦9.9 billion
*coughs* So you people’s ousted governor has been accused of embezzling almost ₦10 billion. In four years. Okay.
The lesson here is: Don’t fight with your godfather, lest you too be exposed.

Why are you guys surprised that some N10bn was alleged to have been linked to Gov Ambode?
There’s NOT a single Gov (from 1999 till date) that won’t have same amount stashed somewhere.
The EFCC just doesn’t want to go look for it.

In what is probably the best remix of Beyoncé, Wizkid and Blue Ivy’s Brown Skin Girl, Josh2funny gave us the iconic line, “Today I must fall in love/ Depending on my Saint Obi”
Now the line is never leaving our heads, and Saint Obi is back in the limelight. The influence, the power of Josh2funny.
