University of Ibadan’s Team Adobe emerges winner in the 2016 Unilever Nigeria’s Ideatrophy Competition
Friday August 26th, 2016, was another great opportunity for Nigerian undergraduates to showcase unique creativity and great initiative during the grand finale of the Unilever Nigeria’s annual IdeaTrophy Undergraduate National Business competition.
Now in its 5th edition, the boot camp for the competition opened in Lagos on Tuesday, August 23rd 2016, where contestants were exposed to the wonderful world of Unilever, and were assigned mentors who are seasoned business professionals, to guide them in the development and delivery of their presentations. They were also part of personal development and team building sessions, and had the opportunity to meet and interact with Unilever top executives. It wasn’t all work, as the contestants also enjoyed fun activities like talent shows, aerobics and games.
This year, out of thousands of entries from various Nigerian universities, six teams made it to the grand finale, the teams were tasked with the responsibility of developing creative ideas to market Unilever’s Close Up.
After a keenly contested competition, Team Adobe from University of Ibadan was crowned winner and the team couldn’t contain their joy. They jumped and hugged with so much excitement. Each member of the team was presented with an Iphone 6s, while the team will also represent Nigeria at the Africa rounds in South Africa, and then proceed to next year’s Unilever Global Future Leader’s League competition in the United Kingdom.
