Prêt a Porter de L’Atelier d’Afrique: Lanre Da-Silva Ajayi for Vlisco

Victorian.
Frills.
Volume.
Bows.
Ruffles.
These are the images that are evoked when you think of Nigerian label, Lanre Da-Silva Ajayi (LDA). With their Victorian-era inspired pieces, the label has been able to create such an indelible identity that even the most passive fashion hawk can spot an LDA design among a sea of others. For the Vlisco Urban Beat fashion event, LDA did not disappoint their key fans. They played their trump cards: Brought the unexpected – Peep the headpieces! And then the LDA staples: Frills – CHECK, Volume – CHECK, Bows – CHECK, Ruffles – CHECK.
Clothes that make you stand out from the crowd – CHECKMATE

Not feeling the stuff.
And Bella whats with all the French? ah abeg now. English only please.
i love love lanre Dasilva!nice collection apart from the stuff on their heads sa!
i was at d show and when the models came out the first thing i thought was, whats that ‘ice bag’ looking thing on their heads? dat said Lanre is an extremely gifted designer and has superb customer service.
She is so talented. I’m not a big “Victorian-era” fan, but most of this collection is wearable and chic. I’d wear about 75% (the hats have to go, though, lol)
oshuka as gele
lol at oshuka as gele
i like what the designer is wearing…
with you on that!
i found this line particularly unremarkable.
that said, the red shirt with the white frills and the yellow one with the white and black frills were exceptionally ugly!!
i was going to do a post about this, but i decided to restrain my tongue on this particular subject!
Bella is encouraging you to expand your horizons….
If all else fails, Google Translate and babelfish should help.
can u buy this designs? if so where?
God forgive me but i am always so so biased when it comes to this girls designs..i am never really impressed with most of her work.but anyways i guess one man’s meat is another man’s………..i wish her well tho
lmao, when i saw those hats, i wnted to cry then i thot, hmmm im not so stylish, but seeing the earlier comments, i have hope in my taste…lol
LDA always manages to make me laugh, some pieces just make me cringe, but i think she’s got talent though, only one piece here worked for me, just one! haba! the remaining put in me either snooze mood or just plain horror!
oh well, people pays loads of money for her stuff so what do we know?!
lovely designs by LDA. Keep up the good job. And for all the haters get a life
i love LDA,but com on bella only affordable by the rich,i don t v a problem with that but pls bella can we v posts on affordable designers/tailors,like my tailor femi or mam toyin anybody feel me on this?
Hats are hilarious!
her designs are too uptight and unfriendly….:/
this is not d best of her designs am not very crazy about her designs but this ones looked like she has run out of ideas and just needed to show something she needs to go back to drawin board
LDA is a good designer but i fail to see wot is so spectacular abt d designs above. what happened lady, run out of designs? NOT IMPRESSIVE!
maybe designer’s block, expected moreeeeeeeeee than dis! dis aren’t good o LDA but i still believe in u!
am sure a lot of work and effort went into this but, am not impressed by this collection.
