The 2011 Nigerian Music Video Awards took place on Sunday 27th November 2011 at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos.
The Zinnia Hall was swarming with star musicians including Ruggedman, Muna, Omawumi, Waje, Charly Boy, Sound Sultan, Ill Bliss and many others.
TV and radio personalities including Adora Oleh, Freeze, Yvonne “Vixen” Ekwere and Yaw were also present.
Darey Art-Alade and Jodie topped the winners list as they both won 2 awards. Video director No-Dash was also recognized in multiple categories – he won the Best Cinematography and Best Editor awards. There were some surprise moments as reality TV star Uti Nwachukwu scooped the Best Soft Rock/Alternative award.

1. The Ice Queen from Narnia (just a chocolate brown version, Ara)
2. An electric blue starfish (Goldie)
3. and Finally an Eel (Ashley)
For some very strange reason, it had a halloween vibe and I dont think it was all Charlie boy’s fault though, I mean maybe 95% of it was his fault but not all. We can also give some credit to Kenny for spicing it up and adding some babalawo feel to the whole red-carpet event.
Chidinma is cute, but I think she and Tiwa have something in common; and no it is not that they both sing but something else, like their posing. I should try that pose too
Muna used to be beautiful but these days, I just dont know and I dont want to act like I do. I’ll go and do some more research on this one and get back later.
I’ll leave the real fashion critics to do their job but I will add just one thing. I like Niyola’s dress, I just think its not sitting low enough bur a little lower will be perfect.

This is one of my major grouse with reality shows.It throws up persons with little discernible talent into the limelight and they are suddenly stars and celebrities. Uti is all over the place and even outshining folks with proper talents. What exactly is his claim to fame? Big Brother. His attention seeking is so ‘in your face’ .
First and foremost congrats to all the winners! I’m glad Jodie won best high life vid cos I love her song #kuchi kuchi ahhh, oh baby, my baby… Checking out the red carpet is always fun. Instead of noting what I don’t like, I’m gonna mention the pieces that I do like: I love Femi Adeyinka’s blazer and Ara’s handbag (and on closer inspection her shoes aren’t half bad either). I really love the bodice of Adora Oleh’s dress and the drama of Yvonne’s. Ibiyemi’s dress has that signature Missoni vibe going on which is lovely. I like Waje’s dress and the folk print (or is it embroidery on) Omawumi’s dress. Sylvia’s dress is very on trend sparkle, glitter, sequin and shine are all very big this season and I really like W4′s print trousers.

Sylvia…perhaps the dress was bought in Sophie’s size ǡŋ₫ there was Ǟ quick switch. Best dressed…Chidinma, Omawumi, Damilola. Adora, the lower part ☺₣ the dress should’ve been knee-high, you wouldn’t want to appear too copycat, ǡŋ₫ it looks Ǟ tad rumpled.

Lord have mercy!! some of these our so called celebs wont kill one with their dressing, this Adora Ukoh no dey ever try at all, she never wears what suites her..what is it? Funke, is it the hair that is not complimenting the dress or the other way? but either way there is just something not right about your look. Baba Kenny i see you oh, always very dramatic!
