“Lift Each Other Up” Emma Nyra is tired of Receiving so much Criticism from other Women

Emma Nyra

Emma Nyra is all about women empowerment in 2016.

The singer shared this inspiring message on social media this morning where she advised women to constantly lift each other up instead of bringing each other down.

Ladies this message is for you. I think it’s sad that every single day, I receive negative and constructive criticism from women who have never constructed anything. Every single thing I do is criticized because I’m In the public eye, fair enough that’s what I signed up for in order to be a female artist. You may also want to understand why I am successful and why I will always be successful. It is because of women! The women who have dedicated their time and talent to work with me, Collab with me, and advise me. The women that look after their fellow woman by building her up, instead of tearing her down. This is why men are successful because they help each other grow. The most important woman in my life (my mom) is a very successful business woman and my whole life I watched her take criticism from women who tried to bring her down. She handled it all with a smile and killed them with success. I wrote this to challenge women. This year as a woman, challenge yourself to support other women around you. Mentor younger girls and make them stronger. Lift each other up. Define womanhood. 2016#YearofTheWoman

You say ‘constructive criticism’; why cry over them?

  • semesee February 1, 2016 at 12:39 pm

If you can’t stand the heat , get out of the kitchen! If you want to be in the public eye, you must develop a thick skin! Not everyone is going to like you, love you or agree with you ! Check out what is dished out to the Obamas on a daily basis!

If you weren’t so egocentric you wont be on social media every single moment of your living life finding, out what people think bout YOU. My 2cents : get your head out of icloud , put your two feet on solid ground and live in your present reality, not in the virtual one you created with an open door policy , inviting every one in. Now you have the audacity to have a hissy fit when the monsters and shadows you create don’t adore you. You need to grow up. you are not 2 and the universe does not revolve around you. Get off social media and concentrate on your career. Havent you heard ? Social media is full of GHOST, it ain’t real.

… when I was young up until a couple years ago, I often wished for fame.
But the way I see these celebs getting roasted on a daily basis…. mehnn, I’d rather pass..

If you ain’t got a thick skin, don’t chase fame. Period.

Madam Emma. You really need to work on your stylist oo. Cos she will always be the reason why people criticize you. Because honestly, apart from your wardrobe(which is mostly very bad), no one takes you down.

  • Industry Insider February 1, 2016 at 2:42 pm

Emma nyra, Emma Kobo, Emma shilling… how many times did I call you?!
This your ‘woman brining other women down’ speech is getting very old!
First of all PLEASE learn to construct a sensible argument when trying to raise a somewhat
    Valid point….

    1. “I think it’s sad that every single day, I receive negative and constructive criticism from women who have never constructed anything”

Emma, Why is it sad that your fans give you constructive criticism? Does this make sense?
I am an ex-fan of yours and must say that I agree with most of the negative feedback you get.
    – Your choice of attire is 95% of the time tacky and trying too hard to be ‘sexy’
    – Your music leaves much to be desired, although I have noticed you work much better when you collaborate with other artists.
    – And your tumultuous relationship with your ex-label boss Ubi Franklin (which you are still denying *YAWN*)
has made you a laughing stock!

    2. “You may also want to understand why I am successful and why I will always be successful. It is because of women! The women who have dedicated their time and talent to work with me, Collab with me, and advise me.”

My dear Emma… the reason people still ‘care’ about your ‘career’ is because A MAN INVESTED IN YOU BECAUSE YOU WERE HIS GIRLFRIEND! Let’s not re-write history when it suits us… :/
You are a product of Ubi Franklin and MMMG. You can deny this as much as you like but let’s face facts… since you left his label what have you achieved?
What music have you released? What videos have you recorded?
What PR have you orchestrated? (please exclude the soft porn you post on IG and the 1 or 2 night clubs you have ‘hosted’.
Your most successful song was with a MALE ARTIST… DAVIDO! And that still managed to flopped!
So please tell us what female artists have done for you since you left MMMG?

    3. “The women that look after their fellow woman by building her up, instead of tearing her down. This is why men are successful because they help each other grow.

Lastly Emma Nyra, have you forgotten how this year started in the Nigerian Music industry? (Olamide v Don jazzy, Wizkid v Dammy Krane and now this ‘Blackface guy has started his nonsense with Tuface!!)
This ‘together – we are the world’ dreamland you speak of does not artist with male artists, in fact it is NON-EXISTANT! NO ONE WILL HELP YOU; THE MUSIC INDUSTRY IS A BUSINESS AND NOT A CHARITY!
If it doesn’t make money it doesn’t make sense.
Your supposed success has been down to you dating your boss… so work hard and find another label exec to date since it worked for you in the past… 

The most important advice anyone can give you is, stop relying on other people to help you.
Change the way you behave so people respect what you and take you seriously as a musician.
WOMAN UP AND USE YOUR BRAIN NOT WHAT IS BETWEEN YOU LEGS!

    • truth February 1, 2016 at 3:01 pm

in your mind now, you think you have said something productive.

      1. if you were really in the industry, you would know that she NEVER dated him.
      2. If you were really in the industry, you would know that that Ubi is very evil, and owes many people money but continues to steal.
      3. you would know that Emma left that label on her own because of the constant ABUSE that that she was receiving from that Ubi because she refused to date him.
      4. you would know that because she left, he tried to ruin her career by planting lies in the media about how much money he spent and how they dated. Again all lies.
      5. A true industry insider would know that Ubi is currently beating his pregnant wife and forming holy for instagram. But that’s besides the point

point here is that, she wrote that epistle for people like you who have nothing but time and have not constructed anything in their life. She at least is working on a few things here and there. You dont have to be a fan of hers, but dont be ugly. keep it cute and MOVE ALONG!

      • Ghen Ghen February 1, 2016 at 5:41 pm

        Say what now ?
        Say what now girrrllllll?
Bye felicia & spill some tea!
I just choked on my food!

  • bee February 1, 2016 at 3:45 pm

i agree with her totally, sometimes if you dont have anything nice to say then dont say anything at all

  • jide February 1, 2016 at 3:45 pm

Emma, me I like you sha. I became a big fan after you denied that narcissist and said you never dated him. Ignore critics jare and do you.

  • mmama nu February 1, 2016 at 4:58 pm

Heheheh.. “truth’ -Emma is that you?

  • Passer by ? February 1, 2016 at 5:57 pm

Hmm it’s nice to see Emma Nyra now wants to be a friend & supporter of every woman now that her career is dead and buried, what a joke! How noble of Ms Nyra…?

I can personally testify that EMMA WAS dating/sleeping with Ubi. Sharing hotels rooms and sleeping in the same bed is what couples do! If she has told her friends, family and lovers he was ‘trying to force her to sleep with him’ then more fool those people for believing that trash story!

The whole world knows Ubi is a woman beater but what does that change? Does it wipe away the fact that Emma is a liar who dated her boss and is now denying it because he dumped her for his next victim?!
    NO!

This woman is 30, please stop sounding so pained and release some good music.
Work hard and try and keep your clothes on!
Even if you sleep around be smart enough to not let everyone know your gist smh

When you stop exposing every sagged part of your body, maybe we’d consider you a success.

  • Uber bella February 1, 2016 at 6:51 pm

Focus on your career Emma and forget about nay sayers. You’re in the music industry. These things happen. You can’t escape it.
