Excited music lovers stormed the Nsukka Local Government Stadium as 2Face, M.I, Olamide, Naeto C & Phyno raised the roof with her thrilling performances at the 2014 edition of Star Music Trek.
The host, Dotun Kayode a.k.a Do2tun of Cool FM welcomed guests from far and wide as he introduced the artists to their expectant audience.
A surprise appearance by Dammy Krane pulled everyone to their feet as he and his electrifying dancers took over the stage to perform ‘Appreciate’ and his other hits.
Naeto C hit the stage next with Efa singing his hit tracks and black suited dancers that kept everyone pumped.
The new BFF’s in the Nigerian music industry- Phyno and Olamide- took their friendship to the stage delivering great performances. Phyno perfromed new sings from his recently released album ‘No Guts, No Glory’ as well as crowd favourites like ‘Ghost Mode’, ‘Obago’, ‘Dope Money’ and ‘Man of the Year’.
When M.I hit the stage he didn’t come a lone. As with his other Treks, he got on stage with a fan, Chidinma, to mime his song ‘One Naira‘ and gave her a wrist watch as a gift for her great miming skills. After that it was Mr Incredible hit after hit – from classics like ‘Anoti‘ to recent hits like ‘Chairman‘.
But the artist that got the crowd screaming with excitement was 2Baba himself. He joined M.I in the last few minutes of his performance and then took over the stage with a live band and eclectic dancers. He mixed his old and new songs like ‘Implication‘, ‘Dance in the Rain‘, ‘Only Me‘ and others.
A Pre-Trek gig held at Jives Bar, Nsukka, on Friday 28th March 2014 hosted by Dotun with special guest artiste, 2Face. Invited guests won fantastic prizes such as TVs, phones, carpets and much more from the brand.
The second concert off The Trek line up will hold at IBB Square, Makurdi, on Saturday 5th April 2014.
Star Music Trek 2014 will tour nine other cities: Makurdi, Uyo, Umuahia, Orlu, Ekwulobia, Onitsha, Benin, Ado Ekiti culminating in a spectacular grand finale which will hold at Jalisco Sports Center, Oshodi, Lagos State.
