Genevieve Nnaji & Amstel Malta Host Pre-AMVCA Mentorship Date for 11 Outstanding Theatre Art Students
Amstel Malta ambassador, Genevieve Nnaji looked glamorous when she met and dined with 11 outstanding Theatre Arts student at an exclusive AMVCAs date. The event took place on Friday, 6 March 2015 at The Eko Hotel, and was part of the all-expense paid trip to the AMVCAs, courtesy Amstel Malta.
The brand ambassador and nollywood superstar offered tips, advice, and also shared her experience with the aspiring actors, all of whom were selected from the University of Lagos, University of Benin, University of Abuja, University of Nigeria, Nsukka and University of PortHarcourt, based on academic excellence.
“This is one experience I’m so sure not to forget. Listening to her journey to success straight from the horse’s mouth was really inspiring and I know for sure that every effort put into being the best is certainly worth everything” said Mitchel Bare of Unilag.
Genevieve also expressed how pleased she was with the interaction she had with these brilliant students;
“I’m so impressed by the level of exposure these students already have as undergraduates. They definitely know what they want and I’m very confident this date was a good step in the right direction. I’m certainly looking forward to seeing them at the top”.
Amstel Malta promises to keep supporting the best and encourages every young person out there to refuse the urge to relax with current achievements.
“We want to see our youths strive harder to be the best in everything they set out to do. That’s why our activities are tied towards re-emphasizing our brand message “Be The Best You Can Be”. These students wouldn’t have had this opportunity if they weren’t top of their classes, so the best is really always the best you can be and no one should settle for less” said Amstel Malta Brand Manager, Hannatu Ageni- Yusuf.

You all should not come and attack me o, but I have to ask this. Is she still Amstel Malta’s brand ambassador after she made that “fat” comment? Na wa o, but if I were the MD of Amstel Malta, I will fire her ass for the comment she made. That was EXTREMELY unprofessional of her.

and has it occured to you and the millions screaming at that comment Genevieve Nnaji made on the #AMVCA2015 was something the company have asked her to say

Wait, why would the company ask her to kill their own brand???Have you ever asked yourself that question. They are marketing them selves as a low fat, healthy drink, why then would they ask her to say it makes people fat?

@Nahum,i love you but shut up! That was a slip up which many people didn’t notice. How would you like it if your boss fired you because of a slip up that didn’t affect your companies sales or credibility in any way? Let’s be more considerate please.

@Nahum, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up. Seems you have forgotten this is the Internet and everyone is invisible. Meaning that I can tell you shut up one million times and you cannot do anything about it except cuss me out on the Internet *insert evil laughter *
Anyways, sorry if the shut up upset you. Have a cold bottle of champagne on me. Cheers to the freaking weekend! TGIF

Did you even wat h the award?
She said that Amstel should supply the winners with a years worth of malt.
I believe Amstel promotes their drinks as having zero sugar rather than zero fat. And there’s is no way you would consume that much amount of Amstel without gaining calories from the other ingredients.

I love Gen, but her “mistake” is unforgivable. Same thing I was thinking. If they don’t sue her, then the WHOLE Amstel Malta Brand team should be fired. The world and the Nigerian brand community is looking out to see what becomes of her endorsement. Its a lot worse than a Coke-Pepsi situation. It’s about time Brand Ambassadors in Nigeria realise what it truly means to be an Ambassador and what their roles truly entail. Enough with these endorsements that yield little or no impact on Sales. Money will be well spent on an Activation and yield better results than this.

I hope for your sake that you NEVER EVER make a mistake in your life oh, because if the full weight of the repercussions of the “unforgivable” mistakes you’ve made and will still make are metted out to you, life as you know it probably won’t be the same. Think about that.
Don't care

Pls, you people should just stop. It was a slip and it’s not an “unforgivable” one. Believe me, her slip will not reduce their sales….so no she should not be fired

Pretty genevieve. Good that its malta they choose to sponsor undergrads but the amount of marketing freedom the alcohol industry has here is unbelievable they are everywhere considering how young the continent is and the lack of regulation its a ticking bomb
