Mummy’s Yum shares her recipes for sweet and savory moin moin for the kids!

This is quite different from the plantain moin moin (our traditional ukpo egede), which is made with overipe plantain and very sweet. The combined taste of moin moin and the subtle sweetness of plantain is what really got me in this and children that may be put off eating moin moin will enjoy this. I steamed in foil plates and baked some in ramekins but you can also bake foil plates in the oven too.

I hope you and the kids will enjoy that subtle sweetness in your otherwise regular moimoi, together with the added carbohydrate that they are now getting in a supposedly protein menu…that’s 2-in-1 nutrition.
