In the words of Kendrick Lamar, “If I’m gonna tell a real story, I’m gonna start with my name.” What’s in a name that makes it so significant in the stories of our life?

A lot of people identify with their names through the traditional meanings and all the better when you need a name that motivates you as an individual.

For Toyin Abraham, formerly known as Toyin Aimakhu, it was more than a fresh start as she says;

Yes, changing my name signified a fresh start.

Initially, it was a family decision to change the name but Abraham resisted because of her brand.

With the controversial events associated with her in the recent past, she finally made the decision to go with the family change.

What’s different now? Toyin Abraham talks about her journey to stardom, life as an actress and how she juggles her personal life and work with Guardian Life.

    This woman just revamped herself. A true depiction of never letting your past/mistakes hold you down. So happy for her. Bigger Toyin I pray!!!!

    The name change really boosted her career
    She made a wise choice
    I need her to just relax more and exhibit more confidence when acting with her English counterparts cos she’s good too

    I’m so in love with this lady. Her strength and resilience is an inspiration. Thought her ex said he didn’t have any relationship with seyi edun and I thought seyi said she was engaged to someone else? But now,they’re both cozy with each other. We’ll see how it will go. Toyin keep climbing, you’ve done well for yourself, I am rooting for you.
