Sometimes your friends will be unreasonable.

Sometimes they will be annoying, they will say the wrong things, do the wrong things, be insensitive, be selfish, not be there for you when you need them to be, or the way you need them to be.

You have to expect it, even if you are not ready for it.

Because they, like you, are human. And the universe doesn’t always give us the right tools for the right moment. We are all muddling through many times, trying to get it just right.

“If your friends can’t get it wrong every now and again and you forgive them quickly because you remember the very many times that they have given everything”, a friend reminded me mid-disappointment lately. “Then, wherein lies the very bond of the friendship in the first place?”
