2012 MTN Lagos Fashion & Design Week: Ituen Basi

Nigerian design label, Ituen Basi was one of this year’s must see shows at the 2012 MTN Lagos Fashion and Design Week which took place from Wednesday 24th October – Saturday 27th October 2012.

The label didn’t fail to impress. Models strut the runway paying homage to the city of Lagos in print “newspaper” dresses, accessorized with big round necklaces and rough hair dos. Soon after, we were presented with lace dresses and jumpsuits, sheer outfits and the label’s signature Ankara creations.

This collection is truly beautiful, but i would have like to see more of the models with natural hair, as it’s paying homage to nigeria. too many of theese models wear weaves and it’s kind of a downer with this collection as it’s meant to pay homagee. on a lighter note i still thought the clothes were beautiful and veryy elegant.
