Waconzy Versus Malaria! “Amosu” Singer Launches Zero Tolerance Campaign Against the Disease
Waconzy is a young act who has been on the scene since his single, “I Celebrate” blew up in the South-South and Eastern parts of Nigeria. Ever since then, he’s added club jams “Club On Fire” and “Amosu” to his catalogue.
But, Waconzy‘s passion isn’t only for the music industry, the young cat likes to give back and has been ever since he started cashing out. Through his silver spoon foundation, he has sponsored and paid tuition fees for primary school pupils and fed over a thousand destitute in one day.
Now, he’s putting his humanitarian passion to fight malaria. He recently launched the “Waconzy Vs. Malaria” zero tolerance campaign which is primarily aimed at fighting the menace of malaria in Nigeria. Here’s what he plans to do with the campaign:
“The campaign intends to educate the masses on how they can avoid malaria by basic environmental hygiene and the use of treated mosquito nets. This project was specifically designed for the pregnant women and nursing mothers since they are the most vulnerable to the deadly disease.”
The campaign kicked off at the primary Health Center, Igbo-Efun, Eti-Osa Local Government Area, Lagos state. At the launch event, Waconzy made a short speech on ‘How to become an agent of positive change in your community’ and also donated a large number of treated mosquito nets to the participants. Don Jazzy was also represented at the event by his brother Jay Mavin. Here’s how it all went down.
