Your Inside Scoop on Lupita Nyong’o’s Makeup Look at the 2014 BAFTAS
The star that is Lupita Nyong’o is fast becoming a style and makeup icon as the days roll by. Apart from her stunning look in the emerald Dior Couture dress for the 2014 BAFTAs, her makeup was also noteworthy.
Lupita graced the red carpet with pretty face that featured green smokey eyes (a seeming favourite for the actress), rosy cheeks and a red lip. The beauty world has already noted her as one of the must-see faces on the red carpet.
Now, don’t get us wrong, we love Lupita. But we would like to see her in a makeup look that is different from her trademark smokey eyes and statement lips. Maybe something high definition? What do you guys think?
Lupita’s makeup was created by makeup artist Kay Montano who is also a co-owner of beauty website Thandie Kay with actress Thandie Newton.
Yesterday, Kay took to the pages of her website to give us the inside scoop on what went into Lupita’s stellar makeup look. Her hair was done by Vernon Francois.
Check it out.

Base
For Lupita’s face Kay applied two beauty products; The Lancome Teint Idole Ultra (shade 15) as a sheer fluid base and the Lancome Air De Teint (shade 13) under and around the eyes and at the top of the cheekbones.
Eyes
I mixed the 2 Lancome palettes together to create a smoldering dark green. Then I added this rich shade of terracotta to Lupita’s cheeks.
For her eyeline, she smudged in black pencil & also did the same to the water line. Then she used a Liquid liner to create a flick at the outer corners of her eyes. This was followed by 2 coats of Hypnose Doll Eyes mascara in black.
Lips
For Lupita’s lips she applied the Lancome Rouge in Love in 185N. For maximum lipstick pigment, apply, blot and apply again.
