Native & Vogue Port Harcourt Fashion Week: Ade Bakare’s Adire-Inspired Collection Showcase

If there is one collection we definitely want to share with you it’s that of Ade Bakare at the recently concluded 2014 Native & Vogue Port Harcourt Fashion Week.

With models like Isio Wanogho & Millen Magese rocking the pieces on the runway, what’s not to love?

The collection added a hint of tradition from the Western part of Nigeria with adire & tye-dye fabrics infused into menswear and womenswear silhouettes. The female pieces ranged from dresses to tops paired with jeans; and the menswear infused mesh shirts with adire print, tunics and a pair of shorts. You can definitely recognize some pieces from his “Adire Meets Modernity” collection.

The designer also added one last pieces to the collection – a wedding dress which served as the closing piece.
