Abia State governor Okezie Ikpeazu, has cut his own salary and travel allowances by half, in solidarity with workers in the state who are being owed salaries.

Ikpeazu’s pay cut will persist until the backlog of workers’ salaries and allowances owed are cleared, Channels TV reports.

The governor revealed the news during the swearing-in of the state’s new Head of Service (HOS), Vivian Uma at Government House, Umuahia.

According to reports, “Ikpeazu promised to do everything to ensure that salaries and allowances of workers in the state are systematically cleared. He also called on other appointees to follow his example if they can, stressing that there was need to cut down on the cost of governance.”

Bruno fierce people like you never see good in anything. You just love to be so quick to be critical of others. And I’m sure you’re one of those who will never commit a selfless or kind act but yet quick to crucify others.

What do you gain by being so negative? At least it’s clearly a step towards a positive direction and it’s only fair and kind to acknowledge it.

I hope our leaders continue to improve by leading by example. Well done to him. I pray God drives him to do more.

Workers salaries are being owe because of your campaign and other thing that happened in order to install you as the governor of Abia state. so even if you decide not to pay yourself, no problem.

Well done Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeaza,,This is the right Move! You are the kind of Man Abia State needs in the government, The Man of good Will , affirmative, Constructive quality and attribute of Character. The Man of Honesty and Transparency. I see the Man of Honor and Dignity in you, who holds the Passion of People dearly to his Heart. The Man that loves Change of Positivism and Development. The Man that has ideal and Moral Considerations in Making Decisions.
“SIR YOUR DECISIONS ARE USEFUL AND INTENDED IN THE GOOD DIRECTION TO HELP CHANGE A LOT OF BAD THINGS IN THE GOVT. AND ALSO TO IMPROVE & AFFECT  POSITIVELY TO MANY LIVES,  NOW AND IN THE FUTURE”
I pray that you will continue in your good will to provide or protect the interests and Rights of the poor people of Abia State, And will not Change or be influenced by those Bad-unscrupulous Types of people that see WHITE and call it BLACK in our Govt, and Society today. That Almighty God will help, protect and immensely bless you for this single act of compassionate work to the people. I assure you if you continue in this manner without changing, you will be the Favorite and dearly Loved by the majority of People, as God will profoundly Reward you.
    God Bless you Mr. Governor.

Mr Okezie Ikpeazu I’m ashamed of ABA. The level of neglect and decomposition.I believe every good ABIAN will feel same too. When I visit home tears flows down and mind congested.
My uppermost interests is not cutting salaries but making ABA honorable. The status of refuse dump may need international intervention, despite the huge business transaction in. the state. Pls we look forward to new ABIA that we can boast off. God keep and preserve you while all this is achieved in your first tenure.
