Are you a diabetic? Have you been impacted by the experiences of a family or friend or a patient with diabetes?
It’s World Diabetes Day on November 14, and to celebrate, Miss BloodSugar has created a platform to share your diabetes story with thousands of Nigerians.
The aim of Miss BloodSugar is to employ the art of storytelling in creating awareness, but you also get to win something.
Here’s what you have to do:
- Send a personal narrative of 500 – 1000 words to www.missbloodsugar.com.
- The story can be about you or someone else, alive or dead.
- We are interested in non-fiction, personal stories that capture the effects of diabetes on relationships, religion, finance, lifestyle choices and, of course, health.
Entries are open from September 1 until October 15.
Winners will be announced on World Diabetes Day, November 14, and apart from the cash prizes, the first prize winner gets their story published on BN Prose.
The best 15 entries will be collated into an anthology, Naija Book of Diabetes Stories. Selected authors are entitled to a free copy of the anthology.
