A Look Inside the Trunk Show Specially Organized for Celebrity Designer, Roksanda Ilinčić at ALÁRA Lagos

Over the weekend, ALÁRA Lagos, a leading concept store in the heart of Lagos dedicated to contemporary art, design, fashion, cuisine, and culture, organized a special trunk show for celebrated designer, Roksanda Ilinčić.

The ‘Meet the Designer’ event which was sponsored by Martini, was a tasteful interaction between luxury fashion and the ‘who’s who’ in the fashion and art world.

From voluminous sleeves to dramatic capes and fabrics that screamed opulence, the list of people who struck poses at this event included the very powerful and stylish elites of Lagos; Deputy Governor in charge of Financial Systems Stability, Central Bank of Nigeria, Aisha Ahmad; First Lady of Kwara State, Olufolake AbdulRazaq; Senior Vice-Chairman, Africa at Standard Chartered, Bola Adesola; General Counsel, Exxon Mobil Nigeria, Adesua Dozie; CEO and Founder Ebony Life TV, Mo Abudu; Founder and CEO, Alara, Reni Folawiyo, and many more.

Roksanda Ilinčić, the Serbian born fashion designer, who is based in London, is the founder of the eponymous label, Roksanda. The label which offers a range of day and evening dresses, accessories, swimwear as well as childrenswear is available in over 125 stockists around the world. This was the designer’s first event at Alara where the concept store has been carrying her brand for a few seasons now. Roksanda employs the use of bold and playful colors, luxurious fabrics, clean, elegant lines, and geometric patterns to accentuate femininity and inspire confidence in women everywhere.

Her list of notable clients includes; Megan Markle, Kate Middleton, Michelle Obama, Anne Hathaway, Amy Adams, Emily Blunt, Tilda Swinton, Rachel McAdams, and Lady Gaga.
