Kola Omotosho’s Teal Suit at Omotola Ekeinde’s Premiere Deserves Its Own Red Carpet

Kola Omotosho made a bold sartorial statement at the Lagos premiere of Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde’s film, Mother’s Love. Arriving in a textured teal-green double-breasted suit, he paired 1970s-inspired flared trousers with a purple striped silk tie and sleek patent leather boots.

We had no idea teal green could look this good—and then Kola Omotosho showed up to the Lagos premiere of Omotola JaladeEkeinde’s new film, “Mother’s Love.”

He arrived in a teal-green double-breasted suit, and before you say anything, yes—teal green. Not navy, not charcoal, and certainly not the safe and predictable. The fabric had a beautiful texture to it, something between linen and a fine wool blend. The peaked lapels and four dark buttons gave the jacket a sharp, deliberate finish, while the structured shoulders kept the silhouette clean and precise—a masterclass in Nollywood red carpet styling.

The trousers are what really caught our eye. Tailored with a slight flare at the hem, they carried a quiet nod to the 1970s—modern enough to feel fresh, intentional enough to feel like a definitive style choice.

Underneath the jacket, a white dress shirt with a stiff collar kept things grounded. And then came the tie—silk, with diagonal stripes of purple and deep violet. Against all that teal, it worked beautifully. It’s the kind of colour pairing that sounds bold on paper but looks brilliant in person.

His footwear choice stayed on theme: black patent leather boots with a pointed toe and a slight heel. On his right wrist, a gold chain bracelet added a subtle touch of luxury without competing with the suit.

Kola Omotosho came dressed like a man who respects the weight of a Lagos film premiere, and the occasion respected him right back.

Wouldn’t you agree?
