Join Joke Silva, Tiwa Savage & Kate Henshaw at the TW Magazine & Zaron Globeathon! The Walk To End Women’s Gynaecological Cancers | 28th September 2013Posted on Tuesday, September 24th, 2013 at 10:26 AM

This year certain harrowing statistics have made us take the task of raising awareness on some of the least talked about cancers that occur below the belt, like Colonic, Ovarian and cervical cancer; among others that are as deadly as they come because of their silent approach. They are mostly gynaecological and it is sad to note that many more women are dying from these cancers that a regular visit to your gynaecologist can help detect, because they are completely treatable!
TW Magazine & Zaron are teaming up with a global initiative called Globeathon to embark on a walk to raise the much-needed awareness.
The 5 km walk is slated to kick off from the premises of Four Point by Sheraton, Oniru Lekki (close to the Palms), through Victoria Island to Bar beach, and back.
Joining us on the day will be veteran actress Joke Silva, Nollywood star Kate Henshaw & singing star Tiwa Savage. The day will include a 30-minute warm up session with a celebrity trainer, a talk by a leading gynaecologist, Dr Abosede Afolabi, and an experience sharing session led by an ovarian cancer survivor.
The partnering Clinic will provide on site tests screening for basic cancers and general health check going on through those hours at the location.
Participation & Registration in the walk is totally FREE
After the walk, participants will retire to a first class spa at Four Points by Sheraton for a generous dose of pampering accompanied by a health full lunch. This is being offered at a heavily discounted price of N10, 000 to participants in the walk.
Date: Saturday 28th September 2013
Venue: Four Point by Sheraton, Oniru Lekki
