“Education is Key, Stay in School” Davido advises Students at Tottenham School

Davido at Tottenham Community School - March 2014 - BellaNaija - 028

Davido who is currently in the UK, took time out of his busy schedule to visit children at Gladesmore Community School, Tottenham.

The Nigerian music star performed his hit song Skelewu and gave out autographed promo CDs.

It’s not everyday you get a surprise visit from a superstar, so it was only fair that Davido advised the students..

“Education is Key…Stay in School” he said. Davido also plans to launch the Skelewu competition £2000 in the UK tagged – “CanYouDanceSkelewu?”.

    Davido, you don’t know that!!
Yes Education is the key but you are not the right role model to say that.
Why??? Because you ran away from school to pursue your music dreams.
Anyways, no matter the goal or destination in life…no matter your chosen career or elected vocation. Life without inspiration is like a room without light…waiting to be turned on…waiting to be desired!

Na wa o, see the wise have always said “charity begins at home”. so he has done all the rounds in Nija schools for this! yet you can jump miles and miles of land to go say such in a first world developed country that caters free education, free health care and free housing to its drop out! abeg, will you not see the poverty and lack in your own country and speak to our youths instead! haba, I don’t dey tire for such frivolities!

How musicians that sing PG rated songs become role models for the young ones eludes me really.

  • Concerned_Boyfriend March 4, 2014 at 4:44 pm

The irony!!.. A college drop out advising kids to stay in school. The U.K is indeed Lagos annex.

Davido, please pass your message through your songs, improve on your lyrics and let it entertain and INSPIRE fans.

  • Mujer March 4, 2014 at 5:41 pm

Great advice. I take it that he completed school?

  • Olori Tari March 4, 2014 at 5:57 pm

Ahan..Listen to the message and not the messenger. Besides, isn’t he doing a part time course ? Might as well be wrong, but even if…take the message if you so desire and leave the messenger out of it.

Are you for real.@blessmyheart thank you,I truly don’t understand it when I see grown up singing his songs, and to say some children dance to their music in children parties is bizzare.Thank God for dadddy’s cash if not busking wouldn’thave paid either. We now celebrate ppl we don’t want our children to emulate, all in the name of he’s making money.role models in Naija are drug addict, weed smokers, women beater, the list is endless, they open our stock exchange floor, they talk in forums to empower youths, they even make them attend seminars they don’t have a clue abt. Please whatever happened to the first class holders in this country, where are the young entrepreneurs that are really contributing to the economy.any wonder Y our youth don’t want to work hard, cus they now bliv its a LONGTHING.It’s a pity that our govt is as confused as the citizens.everybody is moneydrunk, they would rather give gift and cash to celebrity in millions than a true nigerian that has invented a car/machinery using scraps. What a shame naija

I’m bothered by how he keeps grabbing his crotch while performing. Those are kids and that is a weird and crude gesture. And i’m far from being a prude.

Said the “very wise and busy person” who deigned to take the time out of her/ his busy schedule to point out other people’s defect.. Physician heal thyself.
By the way: Are, and (the comma was inappropriate as well)
