Fortyfied!

Innocent Ujah Idibia, popularly known as 2Face Idibia turns 40 tomorrow and we remember the former member of the now defunct Plantashun Boyz group when he began his successful solo career.

Following the break up Plantashun Boyz in 2004, 2baba released his debut album “Face 2 Face” which marked the start of his career as a solo recording artiste. The album became a major national hit and sold up to 2 million copies.

Released under Kennis Music record label; the album housed hit tracks including “Ole” and “African Queen“. But we throw it back this week to the second track of the album “Nfana Ibaga (No Problem)“. The track became a local hit and ruled the airwaves in 2004 with the video also enjoying massive viewing.

The infectious tune has been mentioned as the genesis of 2face’s greatness.

“Nfana Ibaga” was remixed in October 2014 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of his debut album. Re-produced by OJB, the remix was accompanied by a new video and featured new lines from 2face.

2face Idibia has 6 albums to date and his one of the most bankable artists in Africa. He has received an MTV Europe Music Award, one World Music Award, five Headies Awards (hip-hop award), four Channel O Music Video Awards and one BET award for his musical work, four MTV Africa Music Awards, one MOBO award, one KORA award and numerous additional nominations.

Rewind and sing along to this evergreen tune!
