Etisalat Nigeria on Saturday 19th August 2013 launched the Etisalat Cloud 9, a first of its kind music platform that offers unique end-to-end experiential music performances from upcoming breakthrough artists and legendary iconic musicians. The A-List event which held at Villa Medici, Victoria Island, Lagos had celebrity guests in attendance including Toke Makinwa, Wunikan Mukan, Tokini Peterside and Olisa Adibua, with featured performances by Afro Juju legend, Sir Shina Peters and rising R&B star, Seyi Shay.
Afro Juju king, Sir Shina Peters, took guests at the event to Cloud 9 as they went down memory lane with each song. R&B singer, Seyi Shay also put up an outstanding performance as she entertained guests for the first time using a live band performing some of her chart topping singles such as the popular, “irawo”. She also gave the audience a sneak preview of some unreleased material which got her a standing ovation.
Chief Executive Officer, Etisalat Nigeria, Steven Evans, said, “There has been a demand for businesses to create unique platforms to effectively showcase their brand essence and provide opportunities for better connection with customers. The launch of Etisalat Cloud 9, our official contemporary music platform has been developed to showcase the celebrated musicians alongside the rising stars of the music industry while providing exclusive music content to the Nigerian industry”.
Ebi Atawodi, Head, High Value Events and Sponsorships, Etisalat Nigeria, further explained that Etisalat considers music as an important and strategic platform for engaging customers. “Etisalat Cloud 9 forms a perfect continuation of our existing Youth/Mass Music Road show, Cliqfest, our flagship property, Nigerian Idol and our newly acquired music property, Lagos Jazz Series. Music is also a platform that resonates deeply with Nigerians and we intend to use this platform to create a richer experience with our customers using the Cloud 9 platform – the Sessions, the Parties and our official Etisalat Cloud 9 magazine” she said.
