The accident, which occurred at 4pm on Saturday, also left nine other passengers severely injured, Punch reports. They were promptly taken to the Accident and Emergency Centre, Ojota for treatment.
Investigations are still ongoing, as authorities are trying to figure out what caused the accident. All that is know presently is that the bus was heading from the Ibafo region of Ogun State to Ketu in Lagos when the accident happened.
Family members of the deceased passengers are yet to be contacted because the corpses and personal effects, were burnt beyond recognition. As a result, there is no means of identifying them.
Corpses have been deposited at Sagamu General Hospital Mortuary.
