Former NUJ President Passes Away
Ndagene Akwu, former president of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), has passed away.
He died on Friday, June 20, after a brief illness at age 55, Premium Times reports.
Akwu, who served as NUJ president from 2006 to 2009, is credited with many achievements including the 2007 inauguration of the Federation of African Journalists, (FAJ) in Abuja.
According to reports, burial arrangements will be announced later by his family.
