Soon after the elections, various claims about the various election malpractices.

Today, Secretary of the Ekiti state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party Dr. Temitope Aluko alleged that former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan gave Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State, $37m cash to manipulate the election process in the State.

    The only part he didn’t defend well was how precisely the rigging was done cause according to some residents of the state they claimed that it was a house to house thing where people with valid voters card were given cash in exchange for their votes. But boy! Aluko went all aluko on the gist …canary ain’t gat nothing on him.

      @j’suis belle

      I am highly disappointed, saddened with the mindset of young Nigerians. This is the same reason, we can’t grow and develop as a nation. We are good at running our mouths about change but when change comes we also condemn it. We criticize the older generation for being tribalistic, not transparent but majority of young nigerian’s mindset is not far from the backward mentality. Bottom line, we actually don’t want change. Dr Aluko, mentions something about corruption, all people can say is, Yorubas disloyal to their own people. What about APC? Does it matter what party, the point here is exposing the last administration. Whoever gets into power after Buhari should do the same thing. Holding politicians accountable. Why is he just talking now? Are you stupid? There’s time and place for everything. Nigeria operates on lies, so if you are going to call a spade a spade, you fear for your life. I’m even short of words. If this is the mindset of young generation Nigerians, then we are doomed. I’m not even Yoruba, but I’m saddened how Yorubas are angry that it’s a Yoruba person exposing another Yoruba. Then other ethnic groups saying stupid things about Yorubas for not being loyal. Then giving credit to northerners how they will never do that or the Igbos who will not expose each other which is not something to praise or be proud of. This is not a tribal neither a party issue, it’s a government issue that affects all of Nigerians. The fact that this man can come out to say such should be commending. Is it telling the truth, I’m not sure of the accurate information yet but this is the beginning of something important. It’s time to expose what is hidden under the sun. It doesn’t matter who does it. As long as, this politicians are held accountable and hopefully punished for their wrong action.

    I’m genuinely curious. How much does it take to run for political office in Nigeria? Any estimates for what it took Ben Bruce to run for Senate or for Alex Otti to run for Governor?
    $35million dollars!! If that it costs for a small state like Ekiti, then imagine the figures for Lagos, Anambra or Rivers

      @Nwa nna

      Everybody knew Ekiti votes was rigged. I can only imagine how much Jonathan Goodluck gave to other big states like Lagos, Kano and Rivers but the main leaders in these states are pro Buhari, so it didn’t work out. The fact that all the Igbo states voted for Jonathan has bribe written all over it. Igbo leaders, oya start confessing.. Trust an Igbo man, when it comes to money no playing around. They will carry the secret to the grave too.
      Yorubas will be the one to expose all the secret, they are known to be disloyal anyway. Yorubas remind me of white people, they will smile, pretend in your face but will turn against you anytime. But, I like how they will expose anybody even if it’s their brother. They are not that tribalist when it comes to stating something that is wrong. It’s not a bad thing, they play their game well.

      When he assisted Fayemi to campaign and Fayemi won it wasn’t armies???

      All this man said was about donation yes they donate for elections don’t they? So the mama who gave Buhari her gratuity should be arrested?

      So, you are upset he’s exposing the corruption? It’s sad to see when naijas bash someone for telling the truth and exposing the lies. And the same people will open their big mouths about transparency. Naijas in general will sell their birth rite for a penny not a Yoruba thing. Are all the corrupt leaders or people in naija Yorubas? Abeg, I like this Dr, about time somebody expose the corruption/bribe that occurred under Goodluck’s administration.

    Our yoruba people are always betraying themselves. Whatever happened in the north that I lived in during the presidential elections was never talked about. No northerner would speak about it anymore, it’s forgotten. But see the way this fool just exposed everything about his fellow brother’s dealings! Haba! Dem swear for this one ni!

    • Damilola

      February 1, 2016 at 6:04 pm

      You are an idiot and should be ashamed of yourself including those agreeing with you. If you call this betrayal then you need revalue your judgement and character. So bcos northerners and other tribes are not exposing their evil work, it’s something to be proud of? Then you wonder why the same corrupt people keep getting into power. You wonder why the north has seized Nigeria for so long and nobody holds them accountable. The evil, wicked, selfish, greedy politicians we insult, criticize everyday are a perfect reflection of you and majority of Nigerians. That’s the reason, we recycle the same group of leaders . Dr Aluko didn’t put stupid tribalist sentiment into it decided to share an important information, he’s scolded for it. When I say, Nigerians are morally corrupt people, and are evil, I receive insult. But what do you call this type of behavior of condoning, allowing evil to happen but keep silent bcos it’s your tribe member or the same money laundering class as you. God HIMSELF knows, all the prayers Nigerians say doesn’t go anywhere bcos their heart are far away from HIM.

    Solidarity is what the Ibo and Yoruba tribe lack,it’s so sad and I keep thinking about my children and how I will raise them within such tribe.

    All the Northern states Kano and co were rigged,it was so obvious with pictures even but not a soul has said a word,,not everyone who helped rig those areas benefited or will benefit but they will hold their lips…solidarity,Ibo and yorubas we do not have it,sadly.

    Did you just say it is sad Yoruba and Igbo people lack solidarity? Sometimes, I wonder what fountain some people pick their words from. We should solidarise in the face of apparent mismanagement and misappropriation. Oh well, as long as it is from members of our tribal, religious or party affiliation. What in the name of all that is holy is wrong with us?! Corruption is our common enemy! The effects ripple into the lives of majority of Nigerians. Goodness, when issues arise, can we just condemn what is bad and praise what is good? And for God’s sake, leave tribe and religion out of it!

    Im lost here really.I am beginning to think maybe I am not Nigerian or everyone else is walking with their head in their bumbum so they are thinking through their anus. Im seeing comments that are talking about tribes and not being able to keep secrets,he is a mad man, it is the rant of an unstable mind blah blablah. NIGERIANS!!!!WAKE THE F**K UP!!!!! What the heck is wrong with you people. Someone comes out with such strong allegations and look at the comments. I am sad to say the least. He may be mad and unstable,he may be snitching cause he was swindled out of a deal…heck ,call it whatever catches your fancy but the fact remains that there was a crime and he is coming out to say it . The motives maybe wrong but i have always heard that you dont throw away the baby with the bath water. We are all suffering for keeping quiet on this kind of madness and we’ll rather let it continue all in the name of whatever we wanna call it. even if it is $350000 that was spent on the elections are we trying to say that it is not worth investigating. Do you think that this guy is not aware of the consequences of his actions ? The politicians will always make us suffer by stealing our money and we will always support them because a lot of us are not sane enough to know that we will be the ones to suffer for their choices. I for one would have thought that the general outcry following this declaration will the SSS and EFCC and whatever authority handles this kind of cases will swoop into action immediately and start asking the right questions. God has blessed Nigeria but we Nigerians are retarding Gods work with our poverty of mental intellect.
    Arrrrgh…..Im so disgusted.

    I weep for Nigerians and even the young ones. I mean there is an allegation that such large amounts were disbursed to rig an election and all some people can say is APC this, PDP that. now pull your ears and listen carefully: Right now you have to be partisan and have no party affiliation whatsoever, your goal should be ‘developing Nigeria’ and fishing out every corrupt brain in this land. Nigeria has an underdeveloped political system where our parties have no ideology and its members are just looking for food to eat, in comparism to the Labour Party and conservatives and democrats and republicans and their counterparts all over the world, I have never heard of a labour party member jumping ship or in the Nigerian lexicon of current times; ‘defecting’ to conservative party, because their ideologies are so far apart that it is just ridiculous to even conceive it. Anyway my point is until we have a developed political syestem,we need to always change the government of the day for this kind of exposure because now APC knows that when another party takes over, they would not be spared from such dire investigation and guess who is ultimate beneficiary is’ THE NIGERIAN POPULACE. So please get over this APC/PDP rubbish and when we discover any thief let us shout Ole abeg
