LASG Warns Traditional Rulers Against Using Fake Special Vehicle Number Plates
Lagos State Government has warned traditional rulers and their relations against indiscriminate use of fake vehicle number plates.
This is contained in a statement issued by Adebayo Taofiq, Head, Public Affairs, Lagos State Environmental Task Force and made available to newsmen on Sunday in Lagos.
The statement warned that anyone caught using fake number plates will be arrested and charged to court.
“It is observed that traditional chiefs and their relations use vehicles with different fake special number plates which contravene the Lagos State Road Traffic Laws of 2012.
Investigations revealed that most of these council chiefs and their relations have fake special vehicle number plates being used to commit environmental and other crimes in the state.
The government urged traditional rulers to check the excesses of their chiefs and relations within their domains by ensuring that all their vehicles with special traditional number plates are registered,” the statement read.
