Ten years ago, Andy Sandness decided to take his own life; he shot himself in the face but miraculously survived.
He was left without a nose, chin, or most of the flesh below his eyes.
“I didn’t know what I was doing, I made a mistake, now I’m going to live with it for the rest of my life,” Andy told CNN.
Last June, Andy got a donor who also had also turned a weapon on himself at 21. His tragic death offered Andy an opportunity to get a new face.
After over 56 hours in the theatre, Andy got a new face and it exceeded his expectation.
