Premium Times News: 47 Senior Lawyers show up to defend Chief Justice Onnoghen as case is Adjorned

Premium Times reports that the Code of Conduct Tribunal case against the Chief Justice of Nigeria Walter Onnoghen has been adjourned until January 22.

Onnoghen was brought before the court on an alleged false declaration of assets, facing 6 counts of “failing to disclose many bank accounts linked to him as a judge on the Supreme Court, which he had allegedly used to save millions in local and foreign currency.”

47 senior lawyers, led by Wole Olanipekun, were said to have appeared in court to represent Onnoghen, while he himself was absent.
