Arese Ugwu is sharing excerpts from the sequel of her first book (The Smart Money Woman – An African Girl’s Journey to Financial Freedom) titled: The Smart Money Tribe, read by Timini Egbuson, Mimi Onalaja, Bolanle Olukanni, and Taymesan.

The Smart Money Woman—An African girl’s journey to financial freedom” tackles, debt, spending, the consumerist culture of the African middle class, the fear and misconceptions surrounding money and the lack of it, love, friendships, cultural and societal pressures and the roles they play in success.

Each chapter leads to a “Smart Money Lesson” to help you work your way up the financial ladder.

My beautiful @mimionalaja my personal style Icon, the sweetest, kindest soul.. Thank you for always being soo supportive of everything I do. ??? . This excerpt from #thesmartmoneytribe gives you a glimpse into Ladun&Bode’s marriage and how they deal with the financial problems that hit them so unexpectedly. . In a world where there are more stories about African men like Soji (Men are scum category), I thought it was important to tell a story that showcased men like Bode, marriages like his and Ladun’s and how they deal with problems like a team in the midst of the biggest financial struggle of their lives. . One of the biggest causes of divorce is money and in the midst of a financial crisis many couples turn on each other and forget that they are on the same side. I love how Ladun and Bode handled their problems. . This was my editor’s favorite chapter because she’s such a romantic and reading the first draft gave her the warm and fuzzies. ? She made me re-write all the chapters before this at least twice? Have you ordered a copy of The book? Call 08091268000 or follow the link in my bio

Disclaimer: @_timini has to say nice things about me and my book cos he’s my boo ??? But he’s right though… All my friends suffer during my writing process? because depending on what chapter I’m writing or what character I’m perfecting dialogue for… there’s a handful of people who have to stay on the phone with me and listen to the different drafts… erm does this sound authentic? What would make the perfect break up story? I was a nightmare ? but I’m super grateful to my friends for putting up with me … I think I love how all the stories came together…. you’ll love some of them, you’ll hate some of them but you’ll learn a lot from their mistakes…#thesmartmoneytribe is N6,000 To order your copy or become a distributor call 08091268000
